Gray Powell- the guy that lost the original iPhone 4 in the bar.
So began the most negative product release in Apple's history.

What every happened to him? No sightings. No news reports. No nothing.
Is he still at Apple? In what capacity? Is he stressed out? Is he on leave?

His ground up corpse is an integral ingredient in the magic coating that fixes all iPhone antennae issues.

Ha. Now that isn't nice. The poor guy is probably in counseling as we speak.

This is great. The first in line for an iPhone in SF bay area was on the local ABC news. Look what he told the news reporter his name was (he lied)!
Very funny, dude! Something tells me he is a Macrumors regular.....

Now that Gizmodo was cleared of all charges (as they should have been), has anyone heard of what became of Gray Powell?

dude, you wanna marry him o sumtin? u is stalkin him fo over a year now.

Not stalking- just amazed that someone in the center of one of the biggest stories in Apple's history fell off the planet. Maybe I am the only one that finds this story intriguing......

Ironically, CNET today revealed that the exact same thing may have happened recently with an iPhone 5 prototype- lost in a tequila bar!

He was never in the spot light.

Yes he lost the phone, but the story was always about Apple, Gizmodo and the guy who sold the phone to Gizmodo.

It was last reported that he was never fired. What else would you like to know?

Since you asked:

1) Did you ever hear directly from Steve Jobs?
2) How did you tell Apple that you lost the phone in a bar?
3) What did they say to you?
4) Are you still working at Apple?
5) Are you still in the same department or did they move you to the mailroom?
6) Did they ever let you touch a prototype again?
7) Do they make fun of you at work?
8) Besides Lufthansa, did any other companies offer you $$ to be in an ad?
9) What was your reaction when you saw the Gizmodo photos and article? Did you need a change of underwear?
10) You didn't happen to be the one who lost the iPhone 5 in a tequila bar last month?

I think you are possibly the only person here that care's about these questions. I'm not trying to be rude, but seriously he's just a dude who misplaced something. The thing he misplaced was of great interest to a lot of people, but he wasn't. Maybe try to contact him directly if you want these questions answered.

You know... I'd take the 5 minutes out of my day to read the answers to those questions.

Why do you care? He's just a normal guy which lost something. If I lost a prototype and you were asking me these questions I would be freaked out.

Nothing ever really happened to him, he just lost an iPhone and wasn't fired apparently.

We don't even know for sure whether there was an iPhone lost at Cava 22.

Basically it doesn't matter/no one really cares.

You know... I'd take the 5 minutes out of my day to read the answers to those questions.

Seriously who the heck wouldn't want to know if Jobs ever said something directly to him. I would.

It would be more of a present for him to talk to you rather than a punishment :D

And that "something" happened to be one of the most valuable, closely guarded secrets in the entire industry, from one of the most valuable companies in the entire world... Yeah you're right nbd.

Really though, are all you guys that cool that you were never curious about the repercussions of that? Yeah he didn't get fired, but I'd bet money that there was at least one very awkward conversation with one of the most powerful people in the tech industry. Its juicy.

Actually he's now working at GOOGLE, where he can do APPLE the most good. :):):)
And he's still on Apples payroll as well.

Same. I'm curious about it.

Same, I'm curious too. Is he still with Aplle?

boss.king-- I think there are quite a few people that would be interested in this guy's story---

I still stand by my point, that you'd probably have more luck trying to contact him personally, as no one here seems to have any answers.
