Having given this some more thought, I'd like to see some degree of water-proofing in the next iPhone.

I am careful with my device: I do not take it out in the rain, and I never set it down on a table where a drink might accidentally spill on it. However, accidents are inevitably going to happen to some people whether they are careful or not, so I think it would be nice for iPhone to be protected from liquids.

I noticed that some competing phones offer water resistance as a selling point. I hope Apple takes note.

I picked better camera. Now I'm not all into pictures or anything but I want a 4k camera. I would not pick better camera if it wasn't 4k I only picked it for a 4k camera just because you would be able to zoom in super super close and that would be awesome.

If apple are going bigger on the screen. I'd like then to do a nano as well. Go back to 3.5inch retina screen and make every thing as small as they can while keeping good battery life. Kill off the home button, embed the facetime camera behind the screen.

Just see what you can do with small and high quality.
Not small to be cheap but like the nano small because for a lot of people that is more function.

So the range is iPhone Plastic, Air, Classic.
But better battery life is main wish.

For me I would like to see a larger screen (5" max for me though) and better battery life in second place. iOS 7 for me made battery life go in the wrong direction.

the iPhone 5s camera resolution is already basically 4k.

3264x2448 has been the iPhone camera resolution since the 4s. 4k tv is 3840x2160.

They probably mean they want the ability to shoot 4K video without realising that's what they're actually asking. I'll stick with 1080p video because I would run out of space so quick if I was shooting 4K video.

he was pretty clearly looking for 4k photos because he mentioned zooming in :p

4k video isn't very useful right now anyway

For me it would be better battery life (I have no issue whatsoever with this currently) every device could go that bit further!

My main wigs world be for an SD card slot. That would be perfection and then maybe allow us a little more access to some form of file structure, simple things like downloading a word doc or PDF doc and saving to the device is nigh on impossible!

I wish that you had added better build quality (fit and finish). That is my first priority.

Then Better battery life, and increased CPU and RAM. I voted better battery life since I could only pick one, and better build quality wasn't listed.

ONE UNIFIED SIZE

I don't want Apple to release a 4.7 inch phone, a 5.5 inch phone, an iPad Air, an iPad Mini, the iPhone 5s, etc. I think Apple does it best when they keep it simple. The phablet market is overrated. 4.7 is fine.
Apple has multiple sizes of every other device they make, except the iPhone. I think it's more outside of their philosophy at this point to only have one screen size.

- screen size 4.3 inch (4.7 inch max)
- better battery life
- notification led
- better browser
- better notification or priority notification tab for call, sms, IM, and email (and separate notification tab for path, instagram, and other not significant app)

I definitely want to see a 4K camera too. At this point, people say "whats the point of a 4K camera phone? Most people don't have screens that can show it."

Then someone else says "why buy a 4K tv? Nothing you own can shoot at that resolution?"

The jump to 4K has to start somewhere.

We already have that.
Settings -> general -> accessibility -> LED Flash for Alerts

iOS 8
  • Better Mail client with support for smart mailboxes (like in Mail.app on OS X) and ability to attach any file from a secure iCloud container
  • Ability to control default apps for mail, calendar, contacts, tasks and Internet browsing
  • Side by Side apps on the iPad
  • Real multitasking, like on OS X (what we have now is not real multitasking)
  • Get rid of all folder open animations.
  • Siri offline
  • Siri 3rd party apps support
  • Ability to tell Siri in which calendar to create an appointment, in which list to create a task, etc...
  • Background Audio even for videos playing in Safari, or any other apps whatsoever...
  • Give the UI more contrast

iPhone 6
  • No bigger than 4,3" (or give us a 4" iPhone with the same specs as the bigger one)
  • Edge to edge display
  • Make the device even thinner
  • Battery life that lasts 10 hours of continuous usage, as on the iPad (this should be top priority, even if that means sacrificing other features)

Completely different from what people usually refer to by LED notifications (which would require a hardware change as well).

None of the above

I will be happy if the next iphone has the following 3 things

sapphire/darn near unbreakable/scratchable screen
waterproof
Wireless charging

with that said I will be replacing my 4s with a 6 regardless

Sapphire screen, yes. The other two, not gonna happen.

Then what exactly do they mean by LED notifications?
Something that BlackBerries and Androids have had for ages, something like this (although not necessarily in the same location as there are many possibilities): http://www.droid-life.com/2013/11/06/reminder-the-nexus-5-has-a-beautiful-multi-color-led-notification-light-take-advantage-of-it/

1. Better battery life - actually getting the 8-10 hours advertised on the 5s would be fantastic

2. Bumping RAM to 2GB - long overdue for iPhone and iPad

Never had battery problems and the RAM seems to have been well measured. Samsung loads there things with RAM because the OS isn't coded to run smoothly without it and it looks better for them when comparing devices.
