What makes that game special for me, is the bond you create with them as their relationship changes and they bond with eachother and the emotion it can trigger. For example this little dialogue at the boat wreck;
- Whoa, did everyone used to have a boat?
- Yeah, I had a 60ft yacht.
- Really?!
- No.
- ow, sarcasm, we're getting somewhere.

It really made me laugh. And where loads of games have funny parts, it's a rare event that I really "LOL". I remember getting genuinely pissed and worried in the hospital near the end of the game. And a burst of joy and relief after that. (not spoiling too much for people who haven't played it, because they really should)

What if I told you there was a huge game filled with relationships and humor such as that? What if I told you it was Witcher 3?

I just cannot get into Witcher 3. I have tried so many times and the movement just feels off to me. Like the are skating more than running and I just can't get past it. I feel the same way with GTA V.

That's the worst when you feel that way about a game. I've had it happen to me before also.

I couldn't believe how much time I sunk into W3. It took me over 6 months to finish the base game and I didn't do a lot of the question marks on the map.

Current planning;
The Last of Us 2 > The Witcher 3 > Cyberpunk 2077

I also picked up a copy of Death Stranding yesterday for €30. No clue when I'm going to play that one... Also bought Days Gone for €20 on the PSN Store... I feel like a have to find a way to stop sleeping so I can game all night. I hope the PS5 backwards compatibility works good, because I got one pre-ordered but I think I'll be playing PS4 games for a loooooooooong time before getting really into the new console :p

Review on ‘Days Gone‘- {No, I never release any spoilers in any of my reviews.}

Still putting the finishing touches on ‘Days gone’. I think the only saving grace for this game is the storyline, a lot of the gameplay mechanics have stutters, glitches and overall animations with frame rate issues, ‘load patching‘ with graphics that never fully appear. This game is exactly like ‘Mad Max’ that was released about five years ago, open world with an apocalyptic setting, but A lot of glitches that just take away from the gaming experience. I don’t think this was a ‘rushed‘ project, but it certainly is not entirely complete in a lot of areas, and I know now what other gamers were referring to. It’s just unfortunate it’s been over a year since this games release, and these issues still persist. However, the storyline really opens up, and there’s at least 40 hours worth of gameplay involved.

It just takes away from the experience, [even though When the developers released a total of seven Patchwork updates], But you can see a lot of hard work went into this game from Bend studio, and I’m sure they’ll probably learn from their mistakes and release another strong contender in the next few years.

The storyline is very deep, almost to the point where I would compare it to LOU, even though Days Gone is trying not to be anything like that.

The strong points in this game is the sound effects are on point, the weather environment changes is very good, (especially with the ‘real time’ snow updates), traversing on the bike is an interesting way of exploring the map, combat is fairly good.

The weak points I already mentioned with glitches/primary issues, some of the storyline missions really aren’t missions, they’re just ‘extended cut scenes’, I don’t find the different type of terrain on the map all that interesting/sort of ‘all looks the same’, and the main protagonist [Deacon], talks just a little bit too much. The ‘weapon wheel’ needs to be tweaked, it’s kind of cumbersome to use/toggle.

6/10–Definitely worth picking this game up, but I think my observations are fairly shared amongst quite a few gamers, even though this is a strong first title from Bend studio.

Thanks for the share! Maybe I should wait to play it on the PS5? Maybe the better hardware will give the game some breathing room and make sure the framerate doesn't drop. I'm going to put it aside until we have some more details on PS4 BC on the PS5.
Those glitches and bugs were the reason I didn't pick up the game at release. The whole idea of the bike and those zombie hordes really spoke to me...

Days Gone was initially well respected given the concept of what it was trying to execute with the motorcycle being the form of transportation across the map and the Apocalyptic storyline. But where it was knocked hard in the beginning in terms of reviews, was crashing, glitches and overall stability. Bend studio has definitely improved a lot of areas that needed to be tweaked with multiple updates over the last year. It’s still a great game, but there still some minor issues.

What I don’t understand, is how much time do they actually ‘beta test‘ these games before they release them? I just don’t understand how this gets past the ‘lead developer’ desk not finding/locating blatant issues. There was loads of areas that need to be addressed upon the release of the game, which they have improved greatly, but it seems like a lot of these things should’ve been addressed prior to releasing the game.

Again, the Most unique factor to this game isn’t really just the game play, as it seems to be in line with a lot of sandbox games, it’s the storyline that ramps up considerably.

Guess that's why we've seen so many AAA games being delayed... They don't want the Days Gone scenario.

Which is funny, because Days Gone was actually delayed like three different times and it still was riddled with a number of issues when it launched. Like I said, it’s definitely not a bad game by any means, but when we’re in 2020 in terms of what developers are charging for titles, the gamer is expecting higher quality content for immersion. And I think any gamer would agree with me, when a title is delayed for ‘polishing and improvements’, they can take their time, because we want a finished product.

Games I’ve been playing. Zombie army 4, snowrunner, latest COD, and generation zero.

Of course diving further into my actual playing. Generation zero suffered a massive setback with their latest patch which caused AI to go crazy and pretty much nuke everything on site, to the point that the game is now unplayable. But they have another patch coming in June, for that issue and some new content.

zombie army 4: beat the entire game, played all current dlc and beat those. Every Wednesday challenge I login and play even if I’ve done them because I do like the game. Just wish there was more to do.

Snowrunner: Purchased to play COOP with a friend. But sadly we cannot due to restrictions within the game causing people to have limited access. Hoping for a patch!! We played mud runner together and beat that so logical step was to get the next game. So far I’ve only done the tutorial on snowrunner.

and then there’s COD: still haven’t beaten the story mode because I got hooked originally on death match domination online. Once they removed that mode I stopped playing because I didnt care for any of the other online stuff. War zone is fun but way to many crazies running around with c4, rpg.. pretty much anything that can blow you up. It just wasn’t fun to spawn in, grab a car and boom... so then I found COOP mode, that has been the saving grace for me. Playing in teams of 4 against bots with a small story included... plus you can unlock things through points..really enjoying that. I had bought the season pass thinking it was about dlc content not in game unlocks. But after getting into COOP mode, I finished the pass last night.. was grinding a lot knowing season 4 was coming this week. Now delayed which is totally ok, completely understandable.

so now I’m pretty much just waiting for updates to the games before playing more. Little break this week. :)

I recently completed assassins creed odyssey. The “ultimate” edition

I’ve never enjoyed any Assassins Creed game before, always found them clunky, confusing, annoying, over long and just rinse and repeat gameplay.

This was no different. Clunky controls. Annoying. Very very very long and same thing over and over again, but with an RPG lite twist to the gameplay.

But even so I was compelled to play to completion and invest nearly 100 hours in it. And even after that, I’m not sure I ever really enjoyed it.

I really liked the two last installements of the AC series and am looking forward to Valhalla.

I just finished Call of Duty WWII and was really surprised what a nice game it was. Not really a CoD fan, but this one is really cool. (just annoying they keep using "over & out" on the radio which isn't correct at all, but what ever I guess)

Now playing the other free PS+ game of this month, Star Wars Battlefront 2. Not doing any muliplayer, just the offline campaign and I'm liking it so far.

The wait for The Last of Us 2 is so long... 4 more days to start downloading.

Gotta free up 100 GB hd space for that one, right?
Dunno, got a 4TB external HDD on my PS4.

I know something you could play while you're waiting!
The worlds smallest violin? ;-)

Don't want to interrupt The Witcher 3 so it has to wait 'till after TLoU2! And then I have 9-10 weeks for it before Cyberpunk 2077 hits the shelves. Hope that'll be enough, but when a game gets me going, I can play 2-3 hours a day and more during the weekends. So that should be more than enough to finish it.

Days Gone finished-100% completion/40 hours total.

Solid, but unfortunately, has the most glitches in a game I’ve played since ‘Mad Max’ on a PS4 (<— Which was the only game that ever crashed my PS4 Pro). I definitely don’t think this was ready for a prime time release, even with all the patched updates, but the storyline is the Ultimate saving point for this game, otherwise everything else is nothing we haven’t seen before In an ‘open world ‘games.

5/10.

Oh:

There definitely will be a sequel to this game. No doubt whatsoever. The one thing I think ‘Bend studio’ has going for them, they know how to make a decent story line, they just need to improve the gameplay mechanics, Improve the UI with weapon wheel/menu nav, the storyline course is kind of confusing and of course the most obvious, is the graphical rendering/static images could be improved.

Glad you liked it.

I’m curious, would a fan of God of War, Uncharted, Batman & Horizon Zero Dawn find much new in this game? Is it really another home run PS4 exclusive that brings an innovative combat experience?
