What game are you playing currently?

Just got a PS4 (Last of Us Bundle)

so playing through that for the 2nd time (played through PS3 version)

although I picked up swapper from plus last month, I am enjoying that as well.
 
It's a port of a very old game, but I just finished Far Cry classic on the Xbox 360. I am in between games, I need to play a little more destiny, but the grind factor is getting to me. (I am level 25, but have not done crucible or any of the raids.)
 
Started Grim Fandango this weekend. Very cool, I like it!

Controls aren't perfect, I especially would have liked a better inventory system than browsing through your items one-at-a-time. A little surprising, considering older Lucasarts games did it much better.

But it's a very charming game, I'm happy they remastered it!

PS3 - Killzone (picked up the trilogy for 20 bucks, never played before)
3DS - Ocarina of Time

Just finished Shadow of Mordor - now to get back to loads of games I bought and haven't played yet like Far Cry 4, Alien Isolation & little Big Planet 3 ....
 
I'm focusing on Pokemon Y again. I think I'm about 2/3 done.
I might start on Luigi's Mansion 1 in another day or two.

YES! I just beat the original Metroid Prime! I'm glad I gave it one more try tonight. I almost quit it. The Omega Pirate fight was ok, finished it easily on my 3rd try. Meta Ridley I guess I found really easy since I finished it on my first try and only lost like 2 energy tanks. The final Metroid Prime fight itself isn't too bad..

It's the huge room with all the floating platforms and the damn infinite respawning Fission Metroids right before the Prime fight that almost did me in. So damn annoying. I got hung up on that room the other night and got so frustrated. Every time I'd try to get up the platforms a Metroid would knock me off one or latch on to me and I'd fall all the way to the floor, usually in a phazon pool losing energy. By the time I'd manage to get the Prime fight I'd be half dead already.

I must have gotten lucky tonight. I only got hit twice by Metroids on the way up but never knocked off or latched on to. The prime fight was pretty good. The final form is pretty easy. The spawning Metroids didn't bother me much there.

I'm so glad I beat it. I was close to giving up on it because I didn't want to get too frustrated at it and ruin the rest of the experience for myself. And what an experience! I loved it. It felt so alone and desperate at the beginning but by the end you've explored the world so much you know what to expect and feel like a badass with all your cool weapons. Lol.
I didn't even mind all the scanning. Cool way to implement the story.

Easily in my top 10, maybe even top 5.

Completed the first finale in Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One.

There is plenty left to do, and apparently more "finales" to get through once you knock out enough championships. I think I'm done with it for now though. Unless you are a completionist then continuing risks souring the entire experience as you are simply revising the same locations over and over again to complete the championships you might not have wanted to do the first time around.

That being said, FH2 is incredibly enjoyable, and the free roam aspect was well done without adding on unnecessary bulk that similar games in the past attempted (looking at you Burnout Paradise). The last time a racing game captured my attention like this was back when Project Gotham Racing 2 came out for the original Xbox.

Now back to Majora's Mask on 3DS.
 
Finally got some time to try Titanfall this morning. I actually like it a lot. I wasn't sure if I would like it since I haven't ever been in to mech games. So far, it's a lot of fun.
 
Dragonball Xenoverse.

Love everything about it except the always-connected-to-our-crap-servers requirement. Disconnects, everywhere. Can't even play offline.
 
So I just finished Dark Souls 1 including the DLC. What a frickin' masterpiece that game is! I put over 150 hours into it, and loved every minute of it.

I'm really looking forward to Bloodborne. I have it on pre-order, but I might hold off starting that up cause I don't want to burn myself out on Dark Souls games.

Next game I plan to play will be LOTR Shadow of Mordor, or possibly Bayonetta II. Which game do you guys think I should play between those two?

I like a bit of variation when I finish a game, so I'd go for Bayonetta 2. Shadow of Mordor is incredible but it doesn't fall too far from the Dark Souls-shaped tree.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking originally, two dark fantasy settings in a row is a bit much.

On the other hand, I kind of want to beat SoM while there is still semi decent trade in value for it. Bayonetta will likely hold it's resale value longer so I can afford to wait to play that until later. I really got to learn not to buy games until I'm ready to actually play them, no matter how good the sale price is...
 
Finished Alien Isolation, finished The Order 1886, now back to Far Cry 4... But I'm also looking at Dying Light and wondering if it's worth a blast? Is it a big game with big maps?
 
I'm trying my best to go through my backlog before Bloodbourne and the Witcher 3 comes out because that's going to take up my gaming time for the rest of the year.

Dragon Age Inquisition - I love this game, but after 100 hours, I think I'm getting bored. Ready to hit the final quests but so many things to do yet!

TitanFall - Yeah, I'm late to the game, but I picked it up off of Xbox Live for $12 the other week. Loving it. Lots of fun, and very playable even though I'm far from a FPS expert. Very well balanced.

Wii U:

Smash Bros. - Just plain fun
Tropical Freeze - Good, but I think I'm getting bored with platformers now matter how good they are.

Yep, these are exactly what I plan to play too, likely through the rest of the year. Think I will only toy around with Bloodborne and focus on other games until Witcher 3 is released, focus on Witcher 3, than work back to Bloodborne later. The reason I want to do that order is to not burn out on Dark Souls games, since I just finished Dark Souls I.

It's not the DS game mechanic that burns me out, which is incredible and wish more RPGs had the same epic combat system and boss battles, it's the setting, so dark. Give me DS combat/bosses in a less bleak open world setting with more in depth story and NPC interactions (like Skyrim), and I'd be in action RPG heaven.

I think thats what keeps me coming back for more. The lore of the DS/DeS series is so deep and intriguing and the darkness of it...like no matter what you accomplish it doesn't really matter because humanity is screwed anyway 😀

Did you try out DS2 yet? I'm waiting for that on PS4, having gone through it once on PS3.

Bloodborne is preordered, as well...

Lately, I just started playing Limbo, which is simply an amazing game.

Nope, haven't tried DS2 yet. I heard it's not as good as DS1, so don't feel a burning desire to play it right away, but it's definitely on my short list, especially now that the Game of Year edition is coming to PS4.

Not sure when I'll have time to squeeze that in between Bloodborne and Witcher 3 (both pre-ordered) though...

That's a thought, and I do prefer more traditional fantasy setting of DS2 over victorian goth of Bloodborne.

On the other hand, Bloodborne releases a couple of weeks earlier and original DS1 director is at the helm, so I have higher expectations for Bloodborne. I suppose I'll give them both a try and chose which one to play first.

However, Witcher 3 trumps both for me. It really offers the middle ground between Skryim (epic story, weak combat) and Dark Souls (minimal story, awesome combat).

All's I can say is, at least for me, the must play next gen titles are FINALLY almost here. Let's hope these games live up to expectations.
