I've finished Mafia 1 & 2 and currently playing Mafia 3. Was planning on only playing the first Mafia for now, but really like the games and the setting. Mafia 3 is a lot more mature than the previous games, but the story is kinda lame so far, especially compared to the two previous installments. i'm expecting Mafia 3 to be finished in the coming days.

next up: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (2nd playthrough), GTA 6, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, The Witcher 3.
Awesome tips! I'm looking for new games to play. Since I bought the Steam Deck 6 months ago I'm now increasingly drawn to older titles. They are shorter at 8-20 hours, story is tighter and sometimes the visual artistry in the characters and settings are superior to newer games.

Last week I finished Beyond 2 Souls. I'm considering Dishonoured but might consider Mafia 1 as well. On steam most of these games cost as much as a happy meal. Therefore it's less risk to take a gamble on a game compared with a brand new $60 title that's 50 hours long.

Actually this makes me want to stock up a much of steam titles whilst they are cheap incase prices ever change to match consoles.

Dishonored was pretty good, but Dishonored 2 was the real gem!!

I do this every few years, but I decided to play a little Castlevania, SotN on my Deck. What a well crafted (other than the voiceovers 😂), crazy fun game.

I think this is the only series where I bought every game when they first came out (other than the first Japan only one). Nintendo should release the older ones on the Switch, they would make bank. These games are pretty much the only reasons why I still have my Wii, 3DS and DS.

.... The Witcher 3.

I tried to get back into this, but unfortunately the HiDPI scaling doesn't work on my machine. I've been using a 4K 27" for almost 4 years now.(Heck, even my office at work uses 4K 27" monitors now) The UI and menu scale okay, but the game engine itself is blurry and looks horrible. Nothing has worked for me, so I'll have to shelf that game for now.

My friends were visiting last weekend and I pulled out LBP3 , 3 player couch co-op with drinks and snacks like I am a teenager again was very fun. Also played some Guilty Gear. I was reminded of how my friends would come over for my birthday party and we would play mortal kombat together

The Wii one still lives rent free in my head despite only having had played it once. What a game

Miles Morales is much shorter but a lot of fun and Spider-Man 2 is awesome. Loved those games a lot! Curious about the upcoming Wolverine game.
The Spiderman games are a lot of fun to play, just wish they put effort into characters and story. I recently played Spiderman 2 and all the characters are so 1 dimensional and make no sense. You have this supposed hunter group come in and operate all over the city seemingly with no intervention but Spiderman and his crew, but the thing that really throws it off is Mary Jane and her little fights with them, makes zero sense. So much more but won't rant. They do have the mechanics down though which is the only reason I like playing the games.

I did recently just start playing through Arkham Knight again and man that game holds up really well. Still looks better than most games. Now I am not playing it on a consul, this is the first time I have played it on PC and I think that is partially why it looks so good, running everything on ultra. It has some moments as well like Spiderman, but nothing anywhere near as bad, and the overall tone they created is just second to none.

The biggest thing lacking in games these days I think is the story. As I mentioned with Spiderman, I think also to the Jedi Survivor game, well series. Again a lot of fun to play but why do the stories all have to be so dumb, it is literally like they wrote it for 8 year olds. I have been tempted to buy Black Flag Resync but am going to hold off and wait till it is on sale at some point. It is the best AC game in my opinion and love it on PS4 and some of the gameplay I have watched is really outstanding what they have done with this classic.

Betrayed my morals and ethics and bought the ps5 ports of the first two Black Ops games. Felt great to revisit these games after so long, but I am sure I will stop playing them after couple weeks as will many other players especially with how fragmeneted they made the playerbase (ps4 and ps5 seem to have separate queues and then divide by two for season pass owners). At least the campaigns and zombies are still there for the foreseeable future to enjoy. I love how these games have split screen. Gotta get friends who are into zombies to hop on a LAN party or split screen coop
