That is an erroneous and misleading statement. Integrated graphics are not good for playing the latest games, but they will lengthen battery life and produce less heat than dedicated graphics.

I get very good battery life on my MPB, and it has discrete graphics. Aprox. 4 hours.

Yes, I know that. If the MBP had integrated graphics though, the battery would last even longer. Graphics cards take a lot of power.

As well as not being able to drive a dual-link display, like a 30 inch ACD, or a HDTV

Any mini or MacBook can drive an HDTV at 720p. Most can drive one at 1080p.
