I have about 40 non-default apps (only 2 games), 410 songs, no videos, and I delete photos after transferring them to my Mac. I have about 2.5 GB left on my 16 GB. That's about the amount of space I like to keep available.

What's on your phone sounds very similar to what's on mine (minus the games). But my 400 songs, 40 apps, and 50 pictures only use up about 6 GB total. Any idea why that might be?

I have quite a few podcasts downloaded, which I forgot to mention, about a gig. Maybe my music is higher bit rate, or I have more email, or the apps I have are aggregately larger in size. I couldn't say beyond that. I misspoke though; I have 3 GB available, not 2.5. That's 9.2 used. It works for me, but I'm sure I'll get larger next time. Hopefully by then 32 GB is standard.

Cool, thanks. Why do you like to to keep 2.5 GB free?
