They still have iPhone 5's in stock lol

Most of those are still being sold at Apple stores for $100 discount (I just went this Sunday). Like someone mentioned, Apple will have refurbs and returns and fixed devices for warranty, but you might get a new iPhone 5.

My home button on the iPad 3 stopped working literally 10 days before the 1 year mark, I quickly went to the Apple store who confirmed the defect, I got a new iPad 3 since they didn't have any refurbs.

my boss had an old core 2 duo white macbook that broke in around 2010, he got it replaced with the base line 2010 macbook pro.. that was under his home insurance though.

I laugh every time these threads pop up. Seriously? HA.

Me to. It happens every year when a better phone comes out, some are tinkering with the idea to damage their phones/come up with issues with them in hopes that they can get the newest model. Read too many last year regarding same.

It will not happen. Apple will just give you the very same phone.... Period. Should be a sticky with "Warning: Replacement will be same model, just refurbish, so stop dreaming" :D

Thanks. Put the serial# in that site that gives you a rundown on where and when it was made, etc etc and it said manufactured in Aug 2013. Assuming it's new unless they assign refurbs a new serial number.

I'm tempted to make up a BS story saying apple did give me a new model every time this type of thread shows up haha. Oops better delete this! :)

They will simply replace it with another iPhone 5. Just because you cannot purchase one anymore does not mean they do not have ample supply to cover applecare replacements.

This. Apple will have plenty of them to cover warranty work, repairs, etc.
