Likely a faster CPU, more memory, and better battery or battery life.

Won't have to be much to get the lemming to buy.

I wonder why you all need a FM Antenna when you can use an app such as OOTunes. The quality is probably better using that then an FM Antenna anyway.

Just curious.

The one thing we can be sure of is Apple will not put something in the next iPhone just to say they put it in there. I don't expect to see an 8 megapixel camera in the iPhone 5, unless they can make it look better than the current 5 megapixel.

I see the screen staying the same size. I also see a 64 GB option on the high end.

Probably won't see much. 4G maybe. Unlikely to see a processor/ram change. GPU change probably. 64GB probably. Improved Camera. Improved GPS. Wireless Syncing.

iPhone 4 was a HUGE update. Don't expect to see upgrades of that size every year.

YES! That would be the greatest thing ever. Even if Apple made an app costing $100 to use it, I would buy it.

They Have something at best buy that plugs into the iphone to use it as a remote: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/New+Potato+-+FLPR+Universal+Remote+for+Apple%26%23174%3B+iPhone%26%23174%3B+and+iPod%26%23174%3B+touch+-+Black/9823678.p?id=1218178659119&skuId=9823678&st=iphone%20remote&cp=1&lp=1

Also I want the next iPhone to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3UoYdATVDI

A bigger screen and a LED light. The 3.5" screen is so 2007. Come on, Apple, make the screen much bigger. They act like you can't have high resolution large screens.

The only thing that I'm really REALLY hoping for is a 3D interface and gaming capability without the need for glasses. If the Nintendo 3DS can do it, it should be coming to cell phones soon and it would be great if Apple was the first to implement it. I can imagine all sorts of ideas for a 3D iphone interface.

iPhone 5 will be a small upgrade like the 3GS was. I don't think LTE will be available (or ready) for release next year, so I say iphone 6 will be the next big upgrade. Which is fine by me, that will be the end of my iphone 4 2-year contract :)

Zoom + orientation lock is all in iOs 4 ... Most of the other stuff the op mentioned seems useless. Like really, when would you need a projector in a phone? I mean it could be awesome to watch movies on, but the battery life would die VERY quickly, and a phone, even a smartphone doesn't need something like that.

I'd like the icon updating (weather = actual temperature, calendar with actual date, etc.) More info on the lockscreen (like HTC with a clock, weather, and whatever you choose) better camera, better battery life. EDIT. Oh I forgot more storage (64GB or more ;))

That's all I can think of, of the top of my head.

LOL, that's my point. None of the hardware upgrades they could do would really improve user experience much.

Unless they do something ridiculous like a 3D screen or a built in projector that somehow doesn't drain the battery or something crazy like that, what could they possibly add to get people excited?

If Nintendo can make the 3DS that is capable of playing graphic intensive games in 3D for hours on end... they should be able to pull it off on a phone.

Let's also have support for all the 4G, 3G and 2G frequencies. Or at least the ones in actual use (1700-MHz band, I'm looking at you!).

If we're going to put in a radio receiver, let's add DAB+ digital radio for all those areas outside the US (i.e. everywhere, including Canada and Mexico) that don't use HD Radio. And a TV receiver as well (I think Japan uses that.)

And one of those contactless payment chips, like PayWave for credit cards.

And a Micro-SD Card slot, with file system.

So it's settled then. In terms of hardware, the iPhone 4 is dangerously close to perfection. :D

Really? Making an iPhone 5 thread and the 4 hasn't even come out.... OMFG get a freakin life.

Lots of solid suggestions at the top of this page. :) Keep em coming.

I think the original post was too locked to the notion of features for the iPhone 5.

I made the title a little more long term...

What else is there for Apple to offer to get you to buy future iPhones?

HDMI output would be nice.
Also a larger viewable screen within the same dimensions as the current phone.
