The biggest issue with these were the weight. After 5 years unaddressed, I don’t even see the need to upgrade from the v1’s.

Honestly, I have only heard like a 50/50 rate on people who really love the APMs. I debated between these and the Beats Studio Pros and I wound up with the Beats. Sound quality was similar enough and the Beats actually have lasted way longer and turn off! I've heard several others that have had disappointing experiences with the APM's. Seems like they are either loved or loathed.
I own the older Beats Studio's. Yeah its a ****** micro-usb connector, but it has physical controls that can easily work with every other bluetooth device out there.

Only internal and audio updates. Was not expecting anything more. However new color options would have been good.

So - still won't buy them. I was looking forward to a revised design - better for travel (foldable), lighter weight, better travel case. Oh well, same old Apple light-speed "innovation" under Tim Apple. :/

People love to say "innovation" here as much as people like to say "slop" on reddit.

I ask you though, what INnOVAtiON has been done in headphones by Sony or Bose in recent years?

Ordered the first generation on day one. No easy way to travel with it so it is in a drawer somewhere.

Continue to use the Bose top model as its has great sound and noise cancellation and makes into a travel friendly package.
Exactly. When I saw the announcement for the 2nd gen, the first thing I checked was whether they changed the design. I thought they'd at least make them foldable. Nope, not even that. All of the audio and usability improvements are meaningless if they're still way too big to fit into my travel bag. What a shame.

I'll continue with my Bose QC35 Ultras. Audio quality is good enough, and they're super light and compact. I use Air Pods 3 Pro for calls and situations when I don't want over the ear headphones.

This design is what, 6 years old at this point? And the same complaints have been around the whole time: they’re heavy, they don’t fold, and the case is a joke for travel. Apple had a perfect opportunity to address any of that. And, OF COURSE, they didn’t.

Swapping in a newer chip that already exists in other AirPods. After 6 years. Very WOW. Sony and Bose at least tweak comfort, weight, portability, and usability with each generation. That’s the kind of practical improvement (innovation?) consumer actually feel day-to-day.

I'm sick and tired of the snail pace of Apple product improvements. Yes, there is still some incredible innovation regarding M-chips and few other thigs, but overall - they are slow, lazy, cash-milking bean counters.
