I got 2 512 SSD in a Raid 0 in mine (A1342) and I found 10.13 really runs the best. Mojave was ok but a tad slow with the C2D.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Leo also booted on it with a little help. 🙂 Also (patched) Mojave and later are possible.

BTW, how long it livees on battery? Mine can andle youtube 720p for around 1,5 hours. Didn't changed it after purcchase, number of charge cycles is not high (around 1 hundred AFAIK).

I've tried straight start of installer - no luck, hangs right after loading mkext.cache (all my systems configured with verbose boot). M.b it is possible to boot with OpenCore but I don't know about hardware compatibility.
I replaced the battery about a year ago. I get 1-2 hours most of the time.
What version of the installer? An installed copy of 10.5.8 should boot (it does on my 2010 MBA) but the GeForce kexts need to be deleted so there will be no graphics acceleration. It’s more of a curiosity.
I tried 10.4.11 on the 2010 MBA too (of course) but it hung right at the beginning of the boot process.
I used installer, not copy. 10.5.4, Retail.
BTW, can it be that Tiger's disk Utility can't restore 10.7 & other versions? Got error (-22 code), with 10.7.
I’ve never tried it tbh. Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! might be able to.
BTW, 10.8 and later versions can’t simply be restored to a partition to make a bootable installer in the way that 10.7 and earlier versions can (unless the images you downloaded have been specifically “prepared” for this - see here on how to do this for 10.8). The
createinstallmedia command buried within the installer application is the easiest way to create a bootable installer volume for these newer versions. This command may well require a newer version of OS X (on an Intel Mac) though.And which version of Tiger for Intel are you using, out of interest?

S..it!!! I didn't new that. OK m.b. it will require macbook to do the job. About TigerIntel - I'm not using any version, no compatible hardware. Just want it, if I'll acquire something which can run it 🙂.
The retail Tiger Server 10.4.7 release (build 8K1079) uniquely installs on both PowerPC and early Intel Macs. So you can run that on your Quad. 🙂

Well, it is already installed & updated to .4.11. But I'm not using it often. BTW, is it possible to configure server Mac Os to desktop? TigerServer has kexts for my SAS card.
It’s the same base OS, so if you don’t enable any of Server’s features/services it should behave just like a client version. If you also want it to identify itself as a client version, e.g. in About This Mac (in case some apps don't work on the Server version for licensing reasons or something), delete
/System/Library/CoreServices/ServerVersion.plist

Tried copying over all kexts and
mach_kernel as well? (Might be a recipe for disaster LOL)
Got the Quickie humming. 733 G4, 768 ram, GeForce4,120 SSD. 10.4.11 and 9.2.1
I reimaged the Six Dollar eMac after it kept refusing to boot to the existing install, and then got Garden iTunes dropped on to it for my express purpose of using it as a music centre with its speakers far better than any of my PowerBooks. Along with it came Classilla for web browsing purposes, DAVE to access the remote music library, and my favourite standalone music players-- MACAST and SoundJam MP.
The CRT looks mad smooth too while doing it. 89 Hz 1024x768 looks smoother than any monitor I have in the lab.
That said, the issue with the booting is making me think that the Six Dollar eMac isn't actually an OS 9 native eMac. Some ATI Graphics 1.0 GHz models don't officially support native OS 9 boot, which may explain why I can't actually boot an OS 9 CD.

This really looks like a way to seek irrepairable troubles, up to full reinstall 😀.
As for now - created multi-boot installer (APM scheme), works with G5Quad (Tiger, Leopard, ASD, iPartition). macbook sees TigerIntel, iPartition (!) & bunch of intel-only systems (checked some of them, SnowLeo, Sierra, and pair of others) - bootable at least to main menu. Not all installable right from menu - some requires date\time change. Some just missing from boot list. BTW, it can be that I get confused with image size & required partition size, so got few errors during recovery from image to drive. So I think may be I have to rebuild all this... The trouble is that once partition table made in Disk Utility - it can't be reconstructed. M.b. there is some way to create partitions one by one?
I leaft the idea to use my home systems as servers long ago 😀. For such purposes I've build cheap server-grade box with OpenMediaVault installed. Now all files I need - transferred to it.
Do somebody here knows which powermacs can boot from GPT? I know that G5 can (at least PCI-Ex based 😀 ). I'm thinking about rebuild of my installer-drive with GPT, because APM is limited in partition number. But the idea is to be able to boot from most wide number of mac models 🙂.
