Trying to turn a white 2010 Macbook into a bare-metal Windows 10 machine. But the Nvidia driver kills it. If I disable that, it works, but of course it keeps reinstalling. More research needed...

Sounds like a UEFI issue. Very common on those older pre-2012 Mac models - especially Nvidia ones are a pain for this. What you need is to install Windows via Legacy BIOS mode. These instructions here will help:
