Two pheasants. One was an adult, chilling on the side of the road. If it had stayed there, it would've been fine. But at the last moment, it decided to run INTO the road as I passed...causing blood and feathers to be smeared on my bumper. The other was still a chick, and did the exact same thing. Except this one was sent up about 20 feet into the air, and I watched it tumble back to earth in my rear view mirror.

I love nature and animals, but pheasants are truly stupid birds.

Oh, while I was still in high school (2000), I ran over a raccoon at night. He ran and then stayed right in the middle of the road, I tried to center my car on him, hoping he was low enough not to get hit (I was driving a 1981 cadillac, so swerving wasn't an option). I don't know if he survived.
