Yay! We can walk the road of shame together. :D

They're not terrible for inexpensive, pack-in earbuds, they're just - for me - impossible to get a good fitment. They need to be pretty snug to get any bass.

Speaking of inexpensive, I wanted some travel earbuds, didn't want to spend a bunch, and I scored some Symphonized - the body of the bud itself is wooden (which is an interesting, alternative design option in earbuds) - they're very very good, even compared to mid-ish range like a Shure EC215. I was totally surprised, even after reading the extremely positive reviews. They're also comfy, sound isolating, even pretty cool looking, I went with the white/black striped cables, medium dark wood body, NRG Premium.

I use the Apple earpods at work, I have one in one ear only so I can hear what is going on around me, and the music is low so the sound quality doesn't have to be fantastic. I also use them to listen to podcasts on my lunchtime walks. At home I use the good old ATH-M50 - they are ok but nothing fantastic. I did want some Senns for a long time - I wanted the HD600 so badly but after going to a Head-Fi meet and trying the LCD-3 connected to a good amp everything else I have ever heard sounds completely meh in comparison. I am saving for a new car but next on my list will probably be a set of LCD-2 which are on the top end of what I can justify I think

Personally, while I prefer on-ears to in-ears for headphones, I did read good reviews of the ThinkSound products. (Their selling point is that they are partly made from wood, and hence the natural material is supposed to allow for an excellent audio experience).

Has anybody here ever seen them or heard of them, or, most importantly of all, had experience of using them?

Beats Studio2 Wireless. I was able to score a pair for $180. I've been wearing them when I lift weights and do cardio for the last month or so. They sound great, the wireless aspect is obviously really nice when you're working out, and they stay fairly comfortable throughout my hour+ workouts. My only slight disappointment is the Bluetooth connection, particularly when I shoot basketball. I leave the phone around half court and shoot around. Even though I don't get any more than 20-30 feet away from the phone I still get sound cutting in and out. It's usually 1-2 minutes of steady song play, 1-2 seconds of sound cutting out, another minute of steady song play...

I once tried some Beats InEar, I took them back to the Apple Store within a couple of hours of buying them (they were that awful) and bought (and happily using) some Bowers & Wilkins C5 Series 2 In-Ear Headphones since!

I tried a pair of Powerbeats2 "wireless" in-ear headphones...couldn't seem to find a comfortable fit and I wasn't a fan of the cord that wraps around the back of your head/neck. I only had those about a week and got rid of them.

I'm using Audio-Technica ATH-M50X's which by looking at the thread are a respected pair of cans. I got them mainly due to online reviews but the extremely low price when compared to other headphones was a big decider for me.

They sound amazing, I've had them 14 months now so just over a year and they still sound and feel great to me. I only wish I'd bought a pair of premium headphones sooner.

Mine is blue hehe

They look cool, I think that is the reason why.

Well regarding mscriv: that was a tounge in cheek comment.

But I don't think they look cool anymore. That was about 5 years ago. They don't look ugly but it's just a sign that you have an apple item now, which actually lots of people have, every second as it seems on the streets. At least where I live. I think a black iphone should come with black ear buds. And the golden one with ear buds made out of gold: if you go tacky you should go all out! :D

Anyway, the don't really fit into my ears somehow and would always fall off when walking, so I had to get other (cheap) buds for the daily routine. And some beloved P5, think you have/had them too ss, when travelling or at home.

Well, re the Apple buds, I always thought they looked nice; however, I never used mine - and I had no reason to doubt what a great many people had said re their audio qualities, namely, that they weren't terribly good.

For myself, as music matters to me, I have always had half decent head phones.

And, yes, you are absolutely right - I have the P5s - nothing but nothing touches them. Your description 'beloved' describes it perfectly. Mine go everywhere with me - and have - quite literally - travelled the world with me. Comfortable, portable, gorgeous looking, beautifully made, and delivering a terrific audio sound - what is there not to like? Beloved indeed.

I own the B and W P5's and those are some damn accurate sonics and lightweight power.

A1 sauce.

Agreed.

They are easily the best (most comfortable, stylish, great audio and extraordinarily portable) headphones I have ever had.

Last year, I had to get my original pair repaired - I had bought them in 2012 and used them a lot. As I was
working abroad at the time, and the repairs took a few weeks, as a temporary replacement I bought the so-called 'Maserati' edition of the P5s. So, now I have two pairs of P5s.

It pays to have friends at Best Buy. I get ridiculous deals on headphones.

My daily/workout in-ear headphones are: Bose FreeStyle earbuds

I've tried so many different earbuds and none of them are as comfortable as the Bose ones. Also, the sound quality is pretty damn good.

My over-the-ear headphones are: Bose SoundTrue headphones

They're crazy comfortable. I don't use them nearly as much as my earbuds, so I never spent the extra coin to get a pair of higher-end headphones.

I just returned the Bose SoundSport earbuds. They were VERY comfortable, but the sound was lacking. Also I've seen too many reports about the connection/jack point breaking easily. My search continues. I prefer wireless, but can't find one that's comfortable and sounds good, yet doesn't break the bank. I'm back to these Plantronic ones I can't even remember the name of, but they're uncomfortable.

I'll second that about nose lacking the punch I returned my qc25's .

Build quality was great but there was something missing from the sound , shame really as they were a lovely looking pair .

Any opinions on a solid pair of wireless earbuds or headphones for exercise? I know that over the ear headphones deliver better sound quality, but I would like to get something more lightweight.

I really want some QC25s. Maybe in a few months.

I think the major issue with Bose is the lack of significant bass. It's fine by me, but I can see why people don't like their products.

Bose SoundSports with a BT audio adapter off amazon.

I can't say enough good things about the SoundSports. The fit is spot on. I can wear them for hours and they won't hurt. The vast majority of people at my gym seem to have the Bose in ear models (you can tell by the alternating color wiring). The SoundTrue is basically the same old IE2, with different colors and water proofing.

FYI, the V-Moda Crossfade LPs, Over/Closed, phones in various colors at the Amazon DOTD:

http://amzn.com/B003BYRGKY

MSRP $199, usually priced around $100-110, currently $69.00 !

They're pretty solid, a little more tuned toward bass, pretty comfy, neat design (with interchangeable "plates" for customization).
