I'm pretty happy with the Shure SE210 sound isolating earphones.
I was too, until I got tired off the lack of bass and got the SE530. No way I'm ever going back to the SE210.

A question to the OP: do you want headphones or earphones? If you want good headphones under $100, I'd suggest looking at the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 and Sennheiser HD555. They're both open, so they will leak sound like crazy. Good closed headphones to look into are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 and Denon AH-D1001. The earphone world is divided in two parks: earbuds and in-ear monitors (IEMs). For good earbuds it seems you don't have to look at any other brand than Yuin. Their PK3 is said to be very good. If you want IEMs there are a few brands to choose from. Shure makes pretty good ones, as do Jays, Denon, V-Moda, Westone and Ultimate Ears. Even Apple's IEM gets quite a lot of love.

EDIT: Just for you information, you might want to know that both Skullcandy and Bose don't get a lot of love from headphone people.

a second for the Koss

I have never had an issue with any of my Koss products (MV1, portapro). One of my office lab mates dropped his set and they broke. He sent them back with a $6.00 check and got a brand new pair under their lifetime warranty.

PX100 for general use, not in-ear but they are KILLER for the price.

If you want to research the best in-ear models, check out head-fi.org

sorry for bumping my old thread, but I think I have it narrowed down to either klipsch s4's or super.fi 4vi's Which one would you recommend?

I've only use the UE, and it's pretty good. I would go for a Shure SE310 though; you can find them for less than $150.

How much better than the s4's would you say those are? The cheapest I can find them are $130, but there are plenty of s4's on ebay for about $50. and the UE's are about $40.

Okay, I just got my klipsch s4's in, and I have to say I don't feel like their as loud as my other ones and the left earbud seems to have less volume, is this normal with their new headphones and will go away after use, or should I try and get a replacement?

Ooh, just checked out those Porta Pros - very sexy beast, and you say they deliver in sound quality too?
I have the Porta Pros and I love them, but I need new foam cushions which I notice that Amazon has. Good to know, since they are great headphones!
