What if Apple and Samsung merged?

honestly, 2 rivalries will make a better phone than them merging. competing companies make better products for us.
What has Samsung copied with the Samsung Nexus Prime? iPhone has no curved glasses, all screen with no physical buttons and thus increasing the screen size and so on.
Want to bet that Apple will "copy" all these things of the Samsung Nexus Prime for the iPhone 5?
Very true, Samsung isn't some generic brand and they produce alot of electronic parts for companies, including Apple.
This thread is a very powerful example of the number of prejudiced, close minded Apple worshippers. All the OP did was to bring up an idea. Everything begins with an idea. Healthy open minded people enjoy an intelligent discussion.
Yet many people cannot see beyond Apple, and are so insecure, fearful, angry & judgmental ... Nothing is accomplished.
No wonder many Apple users are labeled. Unable to look in the mirror and take responsibility for themselves, it's so obvious to others, these people are labeled fanbois. Viewed with the same distain they practice. Very revealing.

iPhone may not have the best graphics, but the apps to take advantage of those graphics are all on iOS with secondary ports released way after for android and not even all of them.
All those awesome GPU's are underused. I have an S2 but there is no android equivalent of real racing 2 (trust me i tried adrenaline and the new shift, not close to it) and no alternatives to many others.
I lay the blame on developers simply porting stuff and not coming up with exclusives. But then this is where the problem of multiple non standardized(sp?) hardware comes out.
There should be some set minimum specs and ICS should include sufficient drivers for most GPU's etc like windows if they want better apps. The hardware on android is a beauty but underused and under appreciated all the time.

Apple and Samsung are already "partners." There is partnerships in everything in business. Even SJ needed Ross Perot and Canon's money to help fund NeXT.
Personally, I would love to see Apple team up with Nintendo or Nokia. I would love to see Samsung buy webOS. We can imagine this all time. Like have Sony + Nintendo merge to dominate gaming or whatever. Imaginations can run wild.
But what I've learned in business school is differentiation in products. This is why Android can get fragmented with skins. OEM's need to standout. Nintendo did the same thing with the Wii as they tried to cater to a different audience using last gen hardware and it worked. Didn't want to get into this arms race with Sony or Microsoft. As consumers, competing companies makes better products at a lower price so they can win the largest slice of the market. Without competing companies.... Apple, samsung, sony etc... we will be faced with so-so products at a higher price because they know they can charge a higher price because there is no other product in the same market segment...
I didnt read as far.. but the guy above this post said basically the same thing.
You DONT want great companies combining... (AT&T + TMO) because this will form a monolpy.
