What if I have 3 different colored bumpers?

THe purpose of the free bumper was to fix the signal issue of all those people out there that keep complaining. If you bought 3 of them for cosmetic issues then that was your decision. You only need 1 bumper to fix the problem ( if you had the problem to begin with. )
They will probably do it like with the recall on the power cube from the 3G iphone. I brought my old power cube into the Apple store, they entered my iPhone's serial number into the computer, and gave me a new one with the green dot. This time it seems to be online, if you have one maybe they will ask for the iPhone # and receipt/order number then credit your card, or mail you out the free case.

they said you had to "apply" on their website
which I would assume means verifying you do have an iPhone, and there must be some way they make sure it is only 1 free case per iPhone owner (if you own 2 iPhones, you can get 2 cases)
otherwise, why would't someone who owns a different phone buy the bumper and get it refunded, then just sell it? Free money!
They aren't going to let that happen
EDIT: and also...all those people sitting on piles of these things cuz they bought them in bulk to sell them on eBay are about to get screwed. Haha

I don't think they will. I think you will have to fill out an online form and put in your order numbers and serial numbers from your bumper and your iphone and then you will get a refund. They are probably hoping most people who already have both won't be bothered to you're hot do this or won't even know about it. Same reason companies still give you rebates on purchases instead of putting things on sale, some people just forget to do the paperwork and the company wins.
Apple is giving away ONE free bumper. You will be refunded for ONE free bumper. Why are people so flustered by this?
That would be awesome if they refunded all the bumpers bought, but that isn't going to happen.
I bought 5 bumpers and have 0 iPhone 4, although I am waiting for the white one and my wife has the black.
I know I won't get refunded for all 5, that would be nuts, esp since I sold off 3 of them on Ebay already lol. (Keeping 2 for us.)

The $100 credit for being an early adopter of the original iPhone was based on the serial number and this will be no different.
You get a refund for the bumper, the refund is tied to your iphone id/imei/udid or something like that. So get a refund for your phone, your wife's phone e.c.t
