What if I order 38mm Stainless Steel today...

The website currently says 4-6 weeks for both 38mm SS Apple Watch models with the sport band. Is there someone in this forum who ordered one of those two models recently (and by recently I mean today or at least 3/4 days ago)? Was your watch shipped immediately? I'm seeing the 38mm watches being very "unpopular" compared to the 42mm ones so I was wondering if I could get one sooner than what US Apple Store states...

Yup, ordered a 38 SS WSB yesterday morning. It just shipped with a scheduled delivery of this Wed, to Canada.

Not sure about the U.S. but I know it's been fast in Australia too.

I've ordered the Sport SG 38mm, one of the very popular model, and I was thinking money isn't a issue and was debating if I should just order the SS 38mm. Only thing thats stopping me is that its a first gen product and I have a rule for my self to never buy first gen products. and I broke that rule already. :D Oh and the fact that if I place an order today it will come the exact time as my Sport model will.

Not necessarily. I ordered my 38 SS yesterday and was quoted 4-6 weeks. Last night's update changed that to 3-4 weeks. Then it suddenly shipped today.

Same thing happened to me. Cancelled my white sport, ordered the 38mm stainless yesterday and it shipped today. I have tracking and will have it tomorrow. I'm in the US if it matters.
 
I ordered the WSB 38mm SS Friday afternoon and it's still processing. Recieved the EODv2 saying it was 3-4 weeks out. East Coast USA.
 
I have a SS 38mm black sport band on order since 4/11 and all I care about really is the watch so I went ahead and ordered a 38 with white band earlier and thought "never mind, what's another 2 weeks... this one prob won't ship any faster"... cancelled it, saw this thread, and just ordered it again. I'm hoping I get a change in delivery status so I can just put this to bed already....!!!

I actually was hoping to get my sport first and ordered the SS in case the sport didn't meet my needs. Now not sure what to do if sport doesn't come within return period of SS.

Listen, I'm no Donald Trump, but for an addl 200 bucks, I'm going SS with Sapphire crystal face. Plenty of "scratched sport" comments in this forum already. Also, you can make this sporty OR classy where with the sport they are ADVISING not to use ANY OTHER bands but Sport bands due to others wearing out the aluminum grooves on the watch casing itself, over time (they have stainless attachments). Totally helped me make the leap to SS.

Now I also know some aren't first gen-ners, but I looked at it like this is a piece of history and well worth the 549 I don't really have. Keep the SS!!!!
 
So the general consensus is that the 38mm Stainless steel (sport band) if ordered today will come much earlier than the 38mm Sport Space grey?

Update One minute after purchasing SS Sport Band with Care, Chase Bank notified me of a change of $69 for Care. This is very interesting... Because I bought Care with my Sport and did not get a charge for Care when I order on preorder day...

DOES THIS MEAN ITS SHIPPING RIGHT NOW???

Thanks!! Just what I needed to hear. I have been leaning toward the SS which is why I even ordered it so late. It's the 1st gen thing that made me go sport initially.

I'm a watch person and have been concerned about the sport being the right fit for me. I also never got to try on that exact model.
 
Heck the SS 38MM have a sooner ship date than almost all the watches. I'll take that.

My other watch I preorders charged me right away for Apple care and still waiting in purgatory. It's been almost a week now :/
 
I ordered my Stainless Steel with white sports band on saturday and is going to come during May 20 to May 28. but it originally said june.

Went to the apple store and the Sports watch looked great but then on my other arm tried on the SS version and it was beautiful, plus it looks more classy and i can show off to my friends:D

Thats intersting... I wonder why  didn't charge me when I bought my Sport SG...

What watch did you get when you preordered?

I really don't think you'll regret it. They're both nicely made but I can see myself freaking out over a scratch or a bend in the sport in the future and asking myself while banging my head repeatedly against the wall, "why didn't I go with the SS, why didn't I got with the SS?!?!?!?"

I hope this new order I just placed for 38WSB comes through for me or else I'll be stuck with 2 SS watches! Good luck, dude!

P.S. I'm outside of Philly.

It's been nagging me to that I'd regret not going SS. Well it'll be here tomorrow. I'm thinking it'll be hard to go sport after tooling around in a SS.

Hope yours come thru soon. :)

Look at the agita this watch has given me!!! 5 different orders/cancellations. They'll probably NEVER ship me!

I have more than that,don't worry. Between my girl changing her mind on 2 different watches the. Finally deciding she didn't want one and mine. Yea.....
 
I ordered two watches in the first hour on 4/10. One was a 38 SS with Milanese Loop for my wife and I ordered a 42 SG sport with black band for me. Her watch came today and I tired it own after setting it up for her. Decided that I did not want anything bigger than a 38 since it looked fairly large on my wrist. She talked me into her band and model which did look very nice. I cancelled my original order which had just been improved to end of May/early June and got the same dates for the new order for the 38 SS so I will just have to see what happen. Two more people we know ordered this evening the same watch based on seeing hers. I don't know about bad reviews but people who see them seem to like them.
