I ordered two watches in the first hour on 4/10. One was a 38 SS with Milanese Loop for my wife and I ordered a 42 SG sport with black band for me. Her watch came today and I tired it own after setting it up for her. Decided that I did not want anything bigger than a 38 since it looked fairly large on my wrist. She talked me into her band and model which did look very nice. I cancelled my original order which had just been improved to end of May/early June and got the same dates for the new order for the 38 SS so I will just have to see what happen. Two more people we know ordered this evening the same watch based on seeing hers. I don't know about bad reviews but people who see them seem to like them.

Can I ask what your wrist size is?

Ordered 4/24

after not receiving orginal order 42mm SS Classic buckle, I cancelled and late in the day of 4/24 I ordered 38mm SS Classic buckle. I orginally received shipment dates of 5/28-June then 5/20-5/28, then this afternoon received email from Apple and UPS stating watch shipped and will receive tomorrow 4/28 between 2-6. I live in NY

This is great news! Hopefully my 38MM SS White sports band will ship soon then.

originally ordered a 42mm SG Sport on 4/10 12:03am PST - got a may 20 - june 1st shipping estimate.

Now that everyone's receiving theirs - even the exact same model as mine (and had ordered in the same window) - I was really frustrated. I looked at the 38mm SS white sport band, and it came to about $200 more than the SG Sport 42mm. I haven't been to an apple store to try any watches on, so I've been flip flopping on the size of the watch - my wrist is right in the middle size... barely sticks out from under a credit card, so I think I could go either way, 38/42.

so on 4/27 I ordered a 38mm SS white, and it gave me a june 3rd estimate for shipping - but it switched to "preparing for shipment" tonight!

So I guess I'll be getting it this week - by Friday probably. If it feels too small, I'll return it and wait for my space grey sport, and if i miss the shiny Stainless steel too much I'll exchange it for a 42mm SS - by the time my space grey sport ships, they should have them in store... right?

Canada, by the way.

So the faster shipment happens only if I order an Apple Watch with the white sport band… anyone who ordered the black one can prove I'm wrong?

Anybody with a 38 SS ML ordered, who got the watch sooner than expected/projected by Apple? Or have had their ship dates move ahead?

Just ordered a 38mm SS and white sport band. Got a Jun 2 - Jun 15 delivery… not a good sign right? People who ordered the same model recently (and received it after a few days) got the same delivery dates?

I ordered mine this past Sunday,I have a ship date of May 29th-June 6th. I'm in Florida.

What does piss me off is someone last night said he ordered the same watch yesterday morning and it was already shipping last night to be delivered today. He was in California.

I swear there is some guy at Apple that has all the orders on a board and just throws darts at them to pick which order is next.

Update
So I placed an order for a 38mm SS sport black band on the 27th this month hoping that I would have similar outcomes like others on this thread. Alas to no avail its still on "Processing" song with my original order that was placed on lunch day Sport space grey.

So what do you think should I just see what comes in first?
Sport SG Delivers: May 13 - May 27
Stainless Steel BSB Delivers: May 29 - Jun 11

Im having second thoughts on what I really want, I work in the health care field for most of my time so thats what initially attracted me to the Sport. However, I do also work in the fashion industry as well from time to time, and was thinking that the Stainless Steel is a much better fit, being most versatile. I did try it on on the store both fit my taste and style. I just don't know which one I should keep now...

If the sport comes in before the SS it will pass the 13 day return policy so I would be able to try them both at the same time... Lets hope this isn't the case.

In short: You guys think I should just hope that they both come in roughly the same time so I can see what better suits me then sell the other? Maybe enough to buy another band? I mean the Space Grey is still dressy, very slick. I don't know. At this point I'm just ranting and typing down my thoughts.

I am in a similar situation. Except SS watch got here first. Had it a day now. I've been really pleased with the SS and think it's more versatile. I'm leaning towards keeping it. SG sport is nice too and obviously it comes down to what you like best but I'm now in the SS camp. (A few messages back Laurlaur576 gave a bunch of reasons that began to sway me.)

If you do sell the Sport you prob will make up most of the difference also. :)

I would like to know this as well. I'm also giving up hope on my 38mm SG BSB, and wants to order a SS instead

When did you order your SS and what color band did you get?

What key points do you think thats makes you lean towards the SS rather than if you had the Sport? In your own opinion that is...

I was thinking the same sell it on craigslist before the return date to see if anyone wants it and maybe get ($) an extra band out of it and be 10x happy!

I originally went with SG because the price was more reasonable for a 1st gen product and I liked the style (better than the other sports). If I was going to use it solely for working out, I'd still go sport.

The SS feels more substantive though and less of a toy. I'm used to a heavy watch so I liked the inc weight even it is only a few grams. Overall though it is more versatile in that I can wear it to work or more casual very seamlessly. I also liked the sapphire crystal aspect. Scratches in the SS case can be more easily rubbed out. I think there will be more band options too even third party.

I get the sense that the band insertion track will be more durable on the SS model. Someone posted on MR some of the out of warranty coverage for the sport and one of the things was wear w the band insertion tracks. I see this being a bigger problem w the sport than SS. Although Apple says the bands are interchangeable between SS and sport, I think the mixed metal combo might cause problems. Not sure if I'm using the right terms and it just an opinion perhaps not based on science.

I also wasn't sure how much I'd use the watch as I basically ordered it sight unseen like many of us. Having used it one day I see its value enough to justify the expense. (I do think it is overpriced though) In the end I like the SS look better and it has more pros overall for me. Enough to justify the premium pricing.

My two cents. I think I could be happy with either but the SS prob suits my needs better. Until next year when the new model comes out. :)

Update: So I ordered the 38mm SS classic late last night, showed delivery window of june 2-15. card got charged over night (only a few hrs after i ordered), and apple store status is now prep for shipping.
