Doctor, I got a fever! And the only prescription...is more COWBELL!!!

On topic: NFC and LTE I don't mind not having for now since it is being tested and still needs to be perfected, as for the rest, those specs would definitely make me buy the iPhone ;)

4" Screen - Too large
1GHz Dual Core A5 CPU - To be expected
PowerVR SGX543MP2 Dual Core GPU - Not bothered
1GB RAM - Would be nice
64GB Model - Not bothered
8MP Camera with improved sensor and a lens, 1080p video recording - Not bothered
2MP Front camera - Not bothered
More Cowbell - Now you are being stupid
NFC - Not bothered
LTE - Not bothered

Not an insta-buy, but I'll be getting the next iPhone on day one. Big difference relative to needs and circumstance.

You could've just shortly said that you don't want any new technology.

Insta buy for me regardless of what it has. Im relying on the fact that apple has not let me down since 07. Im pretty sure this next gen device is going to hit a home run.

Yep, that would be an insta-buy for me even though I'm still under contract for my iPhone 4. However, since that isn't likely to happen I'll just be happy with OS5. :)

One thing I've not seen mentioned is a different type of sensor - like the accelerometer or gyroscope - any other type of sensor they could add that could add more functionality to apps to make them even more intuitive?

Either way, I'm definitely buying it...

Hurry up, Apple!

Do the terms "short sighted" and "narrow minded" mean anything to you? There are far more things that influence when I upgrade, and what to, than just the hardware alone. Another "think I know it all" crashes and burns.

You mean like iOS 5? But we already know what that will be like so there's no need to speculate about that.

And why would that influence you to upgrade if you can run it on current devices?

Another "I think i know it all so i will try to beat all other know it all's and make myself look super smart" crashes and burns.

Er, no...the people who provide and pay for my phones have as much to do with it as the hardware or OS. Way to go making assumptions, fool.

Another, "I can't think for myself so have to copy what others say, and even then I get it all wrong" crashes and burns.

^^
4" Screen-Yes:D
1GHz Dual Core A5 CPU-Cool
PowerVR SGX543MP2 Dual Core GPU-Eh
1GB RAM-Sweet
64GB Model-
8MP Camera with improved sensor and a lens, 1080p video recording-Would be nice but highly unlikely:(
2MP Front camera-^
More Cowbell-Moo?
NFC-Would be cool, but would we really see something like this?
LTE-Doubt it, but fingers still crossed!

Reckon there's a chance that they didn't show some iP5 specific functions in iOS5? Just because we've been shown iOS5 doesn't mean we've seen it all.

I'm sure Apple have something up their sleeve and will add this new functionality in iOS5 for the iP5.

^Yes

What needs to happen in order to give nerds everywhere instant orgasms is for a phone to come with hardware by HTC and software by Apple.

Actually, I think the best way to give anyone, especially nerds, instant orgasms is either s*xual intercourse or m*sturbation.

Just saying.

For me it would be an immediate buy1 I would switch from my thunderbolt for that phone. but there is no way on this planet, that apple will provide all of that in this update!

They love to nickel and dime people! For me a larger screen, aluminum back, and LTE would be enough! Could care less about camera, Cpu, thinness, or NFC.

I cant believe the people who are discounting the PowerVR SGX543MP2 Dual Core GPU. Thats by far the next most important component, after the processor.

All the fluidity of the UI, smoothness of scrolling, video output, etc, is all driven by the GPU. It's because of strong GPUs and hardware graphics acceleration that Apple has gotten this far to begin with. Take away either, and you might as well be using Android. Because Android software renders, it sucks the battery 2x as fast.

People need to get a clue before discounting the very reason they like the iPhone.
