What if the iPhone 6 and plus both have 2gb ram

Has anyone ever been in the middle of filling in a form in Safari, switched to email/notes/ or something to get some information for the form, then switched back only to have the whole thing refresh and have to start over? It is incredibly annoying. More RAM would solve this.

Of course, they could simply store the contents of any forms either in persistent memory or on the disk and then put it back once it has refreshed. But the current method is very poor.

The iPhone 6 has 1gb RAM. The iPhone 6+ has 2gb. There is no 'what if' scenario.

You really dont understand things do you.

Completly agree!

Battery life is an unlikely reason for staying with 1GB. Sure it makes a difference, but it's probably single digit %. There is no good technical reason to use 1GB over 2GB.

The real reason is the ecosystem, Apple wasn't ready to relegate 512MB devices this year.

I've made a thread about it and i've already mentioned that every review lists the iPhone 6 with 1gb and the iPhone 6+ with 2gb. I've posted about 10 links in the other thread. And no, I will not repost them everytime someone makes up a new thread about the same topic. Unless all the usual sources are completely wrong (which I sincerely doubt) we know 6=1gb, 6+=2gb.

----------

This thread was a repeat of several others.

Then I was wrong along with every phone page on the web.

Repost links here or link to links in thread.

Found links on page 5. None are solid. Speculations repeated as fact.

The buy something else comment is getting old.

Having a device that you only dislike one thing about (RAM in this case) is better then buying something else that you dislike 50 things about. Its not even an options.

That is just a statement from someone that has no intelligible comments on the subject. Like some have mentioned in other thread about different means of fixing tab reloading issues via software is at least a worthy post from someone thats open minded on the subject.

Now complain about the phone for the next year instead of buying something else. I think it's funny.

If they both have 2GB, 2 things would happen:

  1. The Plus owners would get all pissy because they lost a way to rub the superiority of their phone choice in others' faces.
  2. The base 6 owners would be all smug.

That is all.

Doubtful, I don't see many threads with 6+ owners justifying their purchase. The same cannot be said about soon to be 6 owners. If there is any smug remarks, it will be directly due to comments already made from 6 owners.

Then you haven't been looking hard enough. There are plenty of threads here from 6 Plus purchasers touting the superiority of the Plus over the 6 using RAM as one of the justifications.

Bottom line is, both sides are guilty of stupidity.

You haven't been reading carefully enough. Take a look at the post history in that thread. Those posts are almost always, if not always, in response to an iPhone 6 owner acting stupid.

I don't think I've honestly seen one single thread from a 6+ owner downing the 6.

Now 6 owners are basically being complete asses because the 6+ owners like a big phone and they keep trying to justify why they bought a 6.

I think the A8 and the M8 will each have 1gb of RAM, for a total of, wait for it, 2gb.

....I think you could be on to something

This.

People would be complaining it doesn't have 3-4GB. :p

THIS THIS THIS!!!!

What would happen with 2GB is the RAM whiners would be filling out 17 porn site registrations and all of a sudden they'd get a call, only to go back and find them all reloaded and they'd have to start again!

No matter WHAT they'd find some way to consider it "woefully inadequate", even with 2GB of RAM.

Apple isn't doing 2GB anyway. I'm glad. It doesn't affect me, so it'll be funny to watch the devastation. Guess I'm not a "power user". I believe they call it "having a life".

:D

I would have been happy with 1.5GB of RAM, but preferably at least 2GB. Not only is 1GB pathetic on a late-2014 premium smartphone, it has also been proven to be inadequate for the past 24 months. If you call filling out online forms, typing posts on forums, and having multiple tabs open the work of a 'power user' then I dread to think why you waste your money on a smartphone. An old PAYG Nokia off Ebay should suffice no?

So it "doesn't affect you" but you're "glad" so than you can "watch the devastation" yet you claim to "have a life"

Doesn't sound like you have a life. It does sound like you're an idiot though.
