I've been between 3-4 weeks late on many occasions and have never seen a late fee. I always get a call about 3 weeks after the due date and I will pay it then. By then it is both the late month and the current month and I pay them both at once.

agreed. I don't even turn my phone on outside the U.S. unless I know exactly what I'll be charged.
In all fairness...
1. ATT is trying to attrack business customers with the Iphone, we travel internationally, ATT has have discounted data packages, I have used this before in france for instance and there was no problem; since their discount I now learn applies to only some 36 of the world's 200 countries it would not take more than 30 sec. for the customer service person who you have to call to buy the package to say either: where are you going" OR please go to the web and check your destination is covered because we cover only a few countries. I travelled to 17 countires when I had Tmobile, used my MDA device everywhere from Lisbon to Dubai and I was never charged a penny over my bill0they have the first 15MB free abroad. I cannot wait until either Iphone is available from other carriers or an Iphone equivalent is unveiled by a different company

At&t sucks
Unfortunately AT&T sucks especially when it comes to late payments. I switched from T-mobile only for the iPhone and I was late once and AT&T turned off my phone 3 DAYS after the due date and tried to charge me almost $50 to reconnect my phone (push a button). I refused and of course they dropped the charges and turned my phone back on immediately. I hope that verizon picks up the iPhone, i'll be switching to them the second that happens.

Well; I've gone 3-4 months of not paying before they've turned off my phone... And the only late fee I've ever gotten was a whopping 5 dollars.... I've also never ever gotten this "Reconnect fee" you speak of, and have literally had my phone turned off on me at least 4-5 times.. Mind you, this is over the course of 6 years or so..
As soon as your account has a past due balance it's fair game to be cut off. If you have a good payment history it may go a month or more, if you have a bad payment history you may only have a few days. And if it is cut off, your next bill will always show a $36 restoral fee.
And since it hasn't been mentioned so far... if you know your payment will be late, all you have to do is call 611 and ask for a payment arrangement.

My bill is due at the beginning of the month I almost always pay it at the end of the month. Never been charged a late fee I love you AT&T haters! 🙄 oh good luck waiting for that Verizon deal! btw I hated Verizon when I was with them. 😉 from my experience you they will only turn it off when it goes into the next billing cycle and they turn the phone off. I that was your 1st one and you talk nice to the CS they might refund that as well because AT&T are such jerks! (geesh)

If its not fine for you, next time don't be late paying it. It's supposed to be a penalty. If you wrote a $5 check at the supermarket and it bounced, guess what...you're paying the bounce fee (that's upward of $30 here). It's not AT&T's fault that you were late paying your bill. You may have charged it before the actual due date but this isn't AT&T's problem. You need to speak with your CC company, more than likely.
Yeah, charges sometimes show two days after the fact...this is why I try to pay my bills at LEAST a week in advance when paying via internet.
If you sent your bill via snailmail 7 days before it was due, if it arrived late, its still your fault...the mail system definitely isn't going to take the blame on that. So yeah, even if your CC company has their heads up their collective colon, its your fault. I'd take a $30 hit without complaint instead of losing service outright.

Just to note on a dead thread that every time you pay a bill late it reflects on your credit score, regardless of if the company takes any action.
There is a 5 dollar late fee assesed on your next bill if your late by two weeks, and a 36 dollar restoral fee if your service was suspended but that usually takes about 3 weeks after your bull was due.

Guess what? I pay my bill before the due date and I've never been charged a fee or had my phone shut off. Imagine that!

False; only if it falls into massive collections - Several late payments won't do anything to your report or score.
So I have a charge in the Credits/Adjustments/Other Charges section of the bill of "$41.84" and another one a few months earlier for "$41.04" I saw the service agreement listed the states where the late fee is $5 and all others were 1.5% of the balance.
So, I am going to call and try to find out what's happening. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the charge is for? 😕
