Currently have the Invisible Shield HD by Zagg. I'm thinking of ordering a Spigen Glas.tr though. Seems like they have good reviews around here and I don't like how sticky the Zagg is.

@lovetamarav. Pick up the Glas.tR as soon as you can. Just installed mine and it's absolutely sexual:eek: Like not having a screen protector at all.

I just installed my Bodyguardz Pure Glass screen protector yesterday. I installed it dry, using the hinge method....went on perfect and very easily. No lint, dust, or bubbles.

All I can say is WOW!!! It is sooo clear, smooth, responsive, and PURE!!! I am very pleased with this protector so far. I am using this in conjunction with the SGP Snow Series Satin White bumper case on my white iPhone 5 and they fit really well together.

I got mine for $20 with the coupon codes from this forum, plus with their Advantage program....I don't see how a person could go wrong with this protector. I highly recommend the Pure Glass.

I'll second that!!

I just installed the XtremeGuard, and not impressed with it. It was a wet application so I aligned it correctly, but it seems that one side is shorter (the back protector).

Would not recommend.

sgp ultra optic, AF with the clarity of crystal. it is the best of both worlds.

I have to agree, I have this on my iPad 3 and iPhone 5 and I really like it. It is much clearer than any other matte anti-glare/anti-fingerprint screen protector I've ever used. Still I do note a minute amount of degradation. It's anti-fingerprint properties are good but not as good as a purely matte protector such as the Power Support anti-glare. It is as you said, the best of both worlds.

Have owned original glass t and now have the pure.... no contest Pure is superior. Know nothing about the Tr so can't say if it's better or worse.

Wow glad to hear the pure is better then the glas.t considering I've never tried it. But I loved the oleophobic from sgp so I had thought the glast was better

Mind sharing how it is better than sgp glas? very interested to know

I just installed the XtremeGuard screen protector last night and I am actually fairly impressed by it. It had a lot of bubbles in it last night so I was pretty worried but woke up this morning and all of them were gone. Screen is clear and I am not seeing any haziness. And for a wet install it was pretty easy to get on the phone. Then again I didn't get the full body at first because I use a case but I did end up ordering it later and I am expecting it to come in the mail today.

I have tried both for the iPhone 5 and find the BG Pure a much better option for me. They both have the same feel with your fingers on the glass and neither has any loss of clarity or crispness. In my opinion that's where it ends. The Pure is quite a bit thinner so you don't have the deep recess for the home button. Also, being thinner allowed me to be able to lift it and reposition it twice to get the perfect install. With the SGP I got one fleck of dust under the protector and it was a tad off in alignment and due to the thickness and lack of flex, I was unable to pull it up without damaging it. With the Pure, the initial cost is higher but if you do a bad install or damage it in anyway, you can get a replacement through their Advantage program for $13. Other advantages for the Pure - I actually like the fully flat look as opposed to the beveled edges of the SGP. Additionally the Pure seems to be much more smudge/fingerprint resistant than the SGP.

specifically it's the edges. Glass T chipped at the drop of a hat it seemed. I guess the introduced the Glass Tr to help limit this issue. I also feel the Pure "went on" easier, more user friendly. Best part is I can replace it for $12 with their replacement program... want a new glass t and you're paying retail. (unless they came up with some kind of loyalty program I don't know about.)

I've tried two ZAGGs on the iPhone 5, not happy with either one. The first, the Extreme, split into two layers, making the small ends under the home button stick up. Not good--don't know if I just got a fluky one or what. I returned that and got the HD--not happy with that one, either. Although the clarity is decent, there is still an orange-peel look to it, plus the film dents extremely easily and takes forever to correct (if it ever does). I'm disappointed, because I want to like ZAGGs (nice people, good customer service, and great products for less-finicky screens, like cameras and GPS). It simply does not do justice to a retina screen.

So I have ordered a Glas.tr, and will give that a shot. For those who have installed, does the hinge method work? It doesn't look that hard to apply just using your hands, but given the one-shot nature of the application, and my own tendency to get nervous and shaky when applying, anything that would help make it perfect would be useful.

Also, for anyone with the Glas.tr, do you need the home button stickers? It sounds as if there is a more tapered effect with the .tr, and I really don't care for the look of the stickers. Thoughts?

Green Onion Supply Oleophobic. Same oil resistance as the naked screen.

Second choice: Spigen SGP Oleophobic. Not as oil resistant, but still much better than regular protectors.

I would use the steamy bathroom method and after cleaning the screen really good, I would additionally run a lint roller or scotch tape over the screen to get every bit of dust as there really isn't the ability to do it later. Once the screen is totally clean, then I would take off the protective shield. For me it works best to hold the screen protector by the thumb and pointer fingers using both hands - one on either end and slowly lower it down in place. Be careful not to touch the sticky part of the protector and just barely hold it by the edges. If you touch the underneath it won't stick down all the way in that spot. I would imagine the hinge method would work but wouldn't have as much accuracy trying to get a perfect alignment.

Today I took off the back protector because it wasn't aligned, and to make matters worse, a layer of glue was stuck on the entire aluminum part of the phone. Had to rub it off.

Absolute trash.

Is there a difference in the display quality if you compare a matte screen protector vs a clear one?

Matte protectors look nice but this is my first iphone, and I don't want to take anything away from the retina display. I don't know if the matte plays a factor in clarity.

Glas.t HANDS DOWN BEST I HAVE EVER USED!

Way better than any plastic one out there. Just love the look and feel. (I have not tried the Bodyguardz Pure, so I cannot comment on that one).

i like the Anti-Glare Screen Protector for iphone 5
