I agree with the list, except I'd like to see an overhaul of the multitasking interface. It's fine as is, but it just seems like there's a lot of wasted space. The whole bottom could slide up to almost the top, with settings at the top and more app icons below that. Seems like I have to do a lot of swiping considering all that wasted space.

Closing the apps that are running is so tedious and not user friendly. I prefer it if you could just flick the app out of the multitasking tray to close them instead of having the hold until it wiggles, press the little negative sign, and repeat for all the app you want to close. Or better yet, when you double tap the home button to bring up the tray, and hold down on the second tap, a cool animation of all your apps being sucked down an imaginary drain and off the screen (towards your thumb/home button) would be sweet. Closing all your running apps is a common occurrence for me...

Live icons
Widgets in the Notification Center
Data usage monitor
Full Bluetooth support, sending files, contacts, syncing, connecting to external GPS, etc...
Wi-Fi Direct support/Airdrop
Integrate Spotlight search into notification center - put it on top(above stocks)
Multitasking gestures - Zephyr - Flick up for the Springboard, Swipe up and hold for the Switcher
SBSettings(Quick switches) in Notification Center - Wifi, bluetooth, airplane, cellular data, 3G, brightness
Camera app needs Timer, time/date/location imprinting, stabilization shot, 720p @ 60FPS recording option, White balance, Exposure, Light sensitivity(ISO), Contrast, Sharpness, all of these should be added.
Increase folder size
Birthday's in Calendar - show how old is person is turning into
Maps - Drop more than one pin on the map, routing between them
Delete photos from Photo Library
Being able to view file information in photos (say date of taking etc)
iMessage - Needs an ability to share location(Map) like with WhatsApp, right from the iMessage. Current you can only send photos from iMessage, but Maps and Contacts shortcuts should be added too. Also it would be great if the image EXIF data was preserved when sent so the receiver could "open" that image in Maps and navigate... quickly snap a picture of a location, send it, the receiver gets the image, taps "Open in Maps" and finds the route to you.
Prevent shut down when the phone is locked
Delivery notification for normal SMS messages
Snooze time configuration option for alarm, (amount of snoozes, time in between)
Calendar events in Notification Center/Lockscreen - Configure look at head
Calendar event badges on calendar(with an ability to adjust how far in advance you can see your events, 24hours, 7 days, 14 days, etc..)
More pull down to refresh throughout the system
Private switch in Safari
Safari UniBar
Smart Playlist creation on the iPhone
YouTube continuous playlist play

You realize almost all of the apps in your multitasking tray are not running right? Maybe up to 8 are. The rest are suspended and not taking up RAM or CPU power.

For me, I was actually shocked they didn't introduce Documents in the Cloud on iOS like Mountain Lion. Eail attachments and Safari uploads? Solved!

Photo uploads in Safari? MY ASS!

Pretty much everything being listed here is already available on Android (except offline maps which are coming asap)...why not just get one of the new ICS phones (Nexus, S3, OneX etc) as if these things matter to you then you'll be getting exactly what you want?

Plus you get a decent sized screen to boot....

You mean like this?

There are even more options than this for different file types and apps you have.

Profiles!!

Or an easy way to toggle vibrate on/off in silent mode! Kills me!
I wish they had full on location based profiles too but for now Do Not Disturb handles that fairly well.

And lose my 250+ apps?

Quick turn wifi on/off.

I think they can do even better.

Geo-fence my preferred wi-fi points so that the device switches on wi-fi if it's not on when inside that fence. Outside the fence it reverts to what is in the settings. Maybe it becomes a 3 position switch middle being Geo-on.They could then work with wi-fi service providers so when I join such a service they can send you a list of wi-fi points that the device can then add to the map of my wi-fi points.

So when I first connect to a new wi-fi point there will be a default option to add it to map of your wi-fi points. After all it's not like they don't try and create a database of best guess co-ordinates for each wi-fi point for use in maps anyway, and cell tower triangulation should be good enough to put you within 50m of those points.

Ooops... then remembers iPads and iPod Touches which don't have cell tower triangulation to work with. So they should do both.

I've got an iPad and a Nexus, and to be honest there's no apps that I use that aren't available on both platforms. If you play a lot of games then it might be a different story for you.

Tablet optimised apps however are a different story!

As a user of both platforms, I'm just pointing out that you can get everything your asking for already if you really want it....

Great idea! Combine that with NFC smart tags like on the experia s and then we're talking!

I know I can get it. I don't want to have to re-get/re-buy it.

This may not mean anything to most people, but what I would really like to see in IOS6 is custom repeats for iCal events. I'm fairly tired of needing to edit dates on my Macbook for all my "third thursday of every month" entries.

Get an email, open email app.

1st thing you have to do is hit the back button to get to the email account list.
then click the account you want
then click the email, read it
then respond
then back
then back...

unreal this is still as day 1 in 07'

I meant this.

Attachments in Mail? Uploads in Safari? Complaints of a lack of a filesystem? Solved.

Because iWork and TextEdit, the programs that support it so far, are not stock apps on iOS.

iWork for iOS has already supported iCloud documents since iCloud began.

You're not going to get a file system viewer in iOS. Apple is moving away from that.

So you don't see a future of uploading documents with Safari? Of easy attaching of documents in email?

That's a dismal future.

Note that I don't mean a literal filesystem viewer. Simply a, ahem, "viewer" like what Mountain Lion has -- only showing the documents you have. Maybe "filesystem" isn't exactly the correct term to use here -- we should be calling it "file sharing among apps."

But it'll be like multitasking -- it's technically not really multitasking, but it's close enough. Same here. Technically just file-sharing among apps, but close enough to a "filesystem".

In that sense it could happen. Apple seems to want the apps to offer the viewers though. Maybe that's what you want?

Well Apple did there WWDC keynote and "developers" got to play with the first build iOS 6. Is there something they didn't add but really should have... could be big or small?

My list:
Weather on lock screen (All)
Live Apps (All)
Omnibar in Safari (All)
Brightness Slider (iPhone) + Setting toggles (All) in multitask tray
Youtube Redesign (All)

Additional:
AirDrop (All) - jackc
FaceTime group chat (All) - irDigital0l
Weather app (iPad) - irDigital0l
Camera app with panorama mode (All) - irDigital0l
Landscape support (iPhone) - ric275, irDigital0l
Offline Maps (All) - Reddkryten
Lyrics (iPad) - Reddkryten
MS Exchange features (All) - MacOSXAddict

Just jailbreak. It has support for almost everything you are taking about.

I'd like a better way of organizing videos on the iPad. What would be so hard about giving users video playlists in the video app? And the ability to create them right from the device (I try not to use iTunes bloat ware unless I absolutely have to).
