Its the standard get out clause for continuing to treat you bad...however they are just words and context is everything

Women are a mystery to me. I have no idea what she means when she says "I don't deserve you"

I have only been able to break the female code for two phrases, they are:

1. "I don't care where we go to eat, you choose."
This is code for " I'm bored and think it will be amusing to shoot down your every dinner suggestion until you guess the place I want to go." Women love to foster your illusion that you have some say in these matters. This used to be one of my wifes favorite games.

2. "Let's just be friends."
This is code for " I want you to take me places and spend money on me, but I want to make clear from the beginning that you are never going to see me naked." If you don't believe me, invite this women to a nice restaurant, then after diner ask the waiter for seperate checks. I guarantee you she'll stop returning your phone calls!

EDIT: Before someone gets up in arms, this entire post is meant as joke.

Are you scared your wife is going to see this? Because you're spot on with both definitions.

My girlfriend LOVES to play the "Where do you want to eat?" game and it drives me f**king bonkers.

Poseidon is right. You are so right on both counts. A variant of "Let's just be friends" is "I like you as a friend". This to say she'll call you when her computer is acting up, but any romantic thoughts you may have had are not going to happen. When she wants romance, she'll call the scary Harley guy.

I finally broke my wife of this game. All I did was, when she told me it was up to me, I smiled at her and said, "all right". Then I changed the subject as we drove. After a few minutes off fidgeting she finally asked where we were going. I told her I didn't know, I would just drive till I saw something that struck my fancy, ( of course I knew right where I was headed). After a few trips to the BarBQ place, (which she hates), she learned to speak up and we started having real discussions about where to go. ( We still go where she wants, but it's a lot easier to figure out where that is!)

It means she did something bad and she's trying to tell you.

or

She thinks you are a better person then her and she is trying to live up to what you want.

My ex used to say it about her present bf in the context "i dont deserve him" bt that was trying to make me feel jealous of her but i couldn't be more sorry for the guy or her at present! She said it to me about him a fews times after she cheated on him with alot of people.

(they're engaged now...go figure:confused: )

Well it totally depends on the context, tone and what sort of girl she is... but, often when I say it I am implying that I feel quite lucky to have [him] because I don't often feel so wonderfully about myself.

When she says this in context such as that, compliment her.

What is meant when girls say "I don't deserve you?"

...is usually followed by:

1. I’ve crashed the car.
2. I’ve maxed out your credit card.
3. I’m pregnant and you ain’t the daddy
4. I’m an alien queen and need you to spawn my army.
5. Because I’m a goddess in corporeal form and I enjoy playing with your feeble male mind.

(these statements are made up and may not represent actual answers…..apart from number 5)

There are three little words that my wife loves to hear “I was wrong”
:D :D :D :D :D

One of my ex's told me this... It stemmed from the fact that I "treated her so well," and she wasn't "use to that." She apparently didn't "know how good it felt to be treated like an actual human."

She broke up with me two days later to go back to her abusive former; who used her for lots of sex, and threatened to kill himself if she didn't go out with him.
