No it doesn't what? Are you trying to tell me that you know my usage better than I do?

Yes. Unless you never use your phone you are not getting that life out of one charge. It's like saying you get 60 miles per gallon in your 2009 Tahoe. Nope, you don't.

Sorry, but you should not make such presumptions. Nor should you call other people liars when you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

This is normal usage - about 30 minutes of calls a day, dozens of txts, and the occasional email, website, etc.

Do you have a SUPER iPhone if only everyone else had your battery life.

Okay, say you charge your phone, start using it and don't put it down until the battery is drained. You had 6 hours of use and 15 minutes of standby. As you can see, comparing someone else's standby and usage times is like apples and oranges.

Usage time in my mind is the important factor. I want to use my phone all day and charge at night. It pretty much does that.

Once you stop thinking about it, it'll get better. Seriously, I used to obsess over my iPhone 4S' battery life, but now that I don't, it seems much better.

3G battery life comment

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

With 3G you should never underestimate the effect that low signal strength will have on battery life. Using the phone for browsing when it's having to try and find a 3G signal can really drop the battery time. Also the extent to which you use apps requiring location services.

Wow! Thanks for this tip. I've loved my 3GS for a while, but it HAS to live 'on the grid' at work as well as at home. I use it for about 45 min to 1 hour twice a day (I talk with my husband while I commute), and then I have to leave it plugged in at work, so it will have enough battery left to get me home.
I do use the internet much of the time, email less frequently, yet some days the battery seems to drain more rapidly than others. Learning that the signal strength will drop it will keep me from having to make an expensive trip to the Apple store to buy a new battery. This one is still working. Thanks!

Do you ever use airplane mode?

Have you synced your iPhone in those 5 days? Have you turned it off at all in those 5 days? Have you used airplane mode?

I used to get 2 full days and 10 hrs of usage with my iphone 4 , now with my 4s i have to charge it every night :( im thinking about turning off Siri wich i dont use and maybe battery gets better . Here is a picture of my 4s UsageImageUploadedByTapatalk1326535972.755036.jpg

i think normal battery talk time 8hour and if you listen song and watching video to battery time 4 hour

I just want to be able to unplug at around 545, go through my work day and get off at around 1630. At worst I end up with around 4.5 hrs of usage time during that period. Yesterday I got off at 1830 and still 68% left. iPhone has been the best decision I've ever made. I'm on my 2nd month with the device.

Something isn't quite right with the 4S battery though. I went to bed with 95% left and only TWO apps listed in the background and that is messages & email. That was about 1230am-100am. I woke up about 530am and had 77%, which quickly dropped to 75%. So basically, it dropped 20% in about 5 hours. The 4 was A LOT better. :-/

No, I don't turn it off. I don't use airplane mode. I do not have automatic sync turned on.

I also forgot to mention that there was also ~3 hours of music playback included in that usage.

Keep in mind that i'm using a iPhone 4, not a 4S. I don't know how the 4S compares, but I found it very strange that most people here can't seem to get past 24 hours without needing a recharge.

Thats pretty normal for a smartphone. I have to charge my iPhone 4S every night, and I had to charge my old Samsung phone every night as well...

You make some short calls and send some texts. I would say that is below average use for a smartphone. This is likely why people that claim average use get so much shorter battery life. Your average seems much lower than the actual average.

Your reception also seems phenomenal (full bars). It is a widely accepted fact that the worse your reception, the more your standby battery drain is going to be. If you get amazing reception like that the majority of the time, you are going to see longer battery life.

At my normal everyday use my usage time is usually around 4-5 hours (web browsing, social media, music, texting, e-mail, light games), but substantially less if I do any heavy 3D gaming. Standby time is always around 20-24 hours. More than enough to make it through a day.

If I lightly use the phone (on busy days all I have time to do is text and e-mail) my battery could easily last me a full two days without charging, maybe longer.

Are you guys really only getting battery life that lasts for HOURS? My iPhone 4 goes for 5-6 days on a single charge with normal usage.

5-6 days? ... your usage must be well below normal

normal usage would be using the phone everyday ... 5-6 days is not possible if you use it everyday

Check my above post. Its normal usage, used everyday. Nothing crazy heavy, but it is being used.
