On many occasions, an app will not be working properly and she’ll call me. I have told her repeatedly to close the app, and she finally remembers to try that first before restarting, etc. It has worked well as that usually fixes any wonkiness. This would be a good feature for her.

Our moms both have this problem I guess. I just don't see how a button to close every app would be beneficial for a 67 year old woman who can't remember how to close one single app that's having trouble a couple times a year. But what it would do is encourage detrimental habits to people who "cAnT sTaNd HaViNg aLL tHoSe aPpS oPen" even though they're literally just screenshots of suspended apps and could potentially increase data loss and introduce system inefficiency. But either way the option is literally never going to happen on iOS, so discussing it is moot.

Hide widget name would be nice. But seriously doubt widget owners/developers would like that. It's advertising for them.

and add the ability to set your own default apps. Not that I find Apple Apps lacking. Well actually, I do.

SL itself isn't the prime item. But add theming or the ability place apps anywhere and to be able to assign defaults.

In my view, iOS is pretty good however I'd like to see the following:
- Audio Playback improvements - would like to be able to adjust volume for each audio source individually, for eg Spotify, Safari, Calls at the same time to allow each to be audible / to allow all to play at once if needed.
- Actual Live Wallpapers - Not a necessary thing however I would like some proper live wallpapers instead of being based on weather/location/movement of the phone.
- Home Screen improvements - As others have said previously, the ability to customise the layout of the Home Screen further would be a nice and I'm sure well received feature.
- Split Screen apps - I think it's time this feature came to the iPhone. Android phones have it and I do feel one app at a time is beginning to limit the user experience somewhat.

A video player in the Photos app that has normal on screen controls with a proper scrubber. The controls should be overlaid on the videos, not above and below. Like it used to be. It’s nearly impossible to scrub now with all the little thumbnails crammed in at the bottom.

Here’s my list of things I’d like to see from iOS soon…
- All devices shown in Now Playing (ie so that you can see what your iPhone is playing from your iPad, etc)
- Native food logging in Health (a native version of something like Lose It)
- Live TV services directly in the TV app (so that live channels/streams from providers like Sling and my Comcast app can appear in and be directly played from the TV app)
- Wallet app with account balance and all transaction history for all cards with an iPad/Mac version (though you’d probably need it to be activated by card issuers, but I think this is already somewhat available as my friend’s card in Wallet shows all transactions with that account, including those made with the physical card, not just via Apple Pay on the iPhone)
- Synced Clock apps for alarms and timers (I’ve set so many timers on one device and then failed to notice it going off when I switched to using another device in the meantime)
- All iCloud-connected devices shown in Battery widget
- “Contacts only” section in messages (even in the “known” section, there is so much clutter from businesses and the like that text me - I’d love a view of messages from people that are only in my Contacts app)
- A redesigned Phone app with iPad and Mac versions, synced call log and voicemail access across devices, ability to delete all voicemails at once, etc (I use my iPad for like 90% of calls when I work from home and not having access to voicemails, a dialer, etc is killing me)
- Fitness widget for iPad
- Calculator app for iPad 🥴

Thanks @StaceyMJ86! I actually thought of a few more after I posted my list…
- Ability to control media on iPhones and iPads with a Siri Remote, as I have a couple old Siri Remotes sitting around and it’d be great to put them to use. The other day I had my iPad in my room watching a movie in the TV app and I thought how cool it would be to be able to pause it from across the room with a paired Bluetooth remote.
- Apple Pencil support for iPhone, at least the larger screened ones. I would find it pretty cool to use as I always carry a Pencil around anyway for my iPad. It’d be nice for handwritten messages, doodling, light note taking, etc.
- Sharing of Bluetooth connected devices like AirPods between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I have a Bluetooth Magic Keyboard and trackpad that I use with my iPad Pro, but it’d be cool if I could switch them to an iPad mini as easily as you can switch AirPods.

i have a few ideas:
1. a way to lock certain apps to stay on a specific home screen page
2. photos app to have a wallpapers section for personal wallapers, so they dont appear in the camera roll. something liek the screenshots section or selfie section.
3. photos app, a way to have a 1 way sync of photo from icloud library, meaning if you need to view photos it downloads then, then when you are done they go back to the cloud and not stay on your device taking up space.
4. the app store to finally have a push notification when apps have updates, instead of me having to check on my own.
5. dock, have more than 4 apps
6. files app, allow you to unsync files to your phone, if you need the space.

Change the date of the wallpapers to something like 1900 and put them in a new album. That's the way I'm handling it.

With the "Deutschland-Ticket" you can travel by train through whole Germany. I often use it, I´m often in unknown cities and I often use the maps app. And I often take pics while walking.
So i would really like a camera button inside the maps app - and vice versa - to switch fast between these two apps. Or is there a fast way that I´ve overseen so far?
And +1 for the suggestion of more than 4 apps in the dock.
And of course different icon themes would be really nice.

The feature I'd most like to see come to iOS 18 is Pencil support, and I can see Apple presenting this in at least a couple of ways.
Make It a Pro-only Feature
While I'm ultimately in favor of Pencil support across the entire iPhone lineup (all iPhone & iPhone Pro screens are large enough to facilitate this type of input), I think they could present this as a differentiator between the two iPhone tiers. I'm thinking note taking, sketching, drawing and other creation activities would align well with their [increasingly meaningless] "Pro" moniker.
Make it Pro Max-Only Feature
As an iPhone Pro user, I'd not like to see this, but it would be so Apple of them to do so. At least, for the first cycle. I could see it coming to iPhones Pro the following year.
I like the idea of a Pro camera app. A lot. I'm kind of surprised we've not seen that in the iPhone Pro line, especially with the Pro Max's additional camera features.
Otherwise, I'm pretty satisfied with iOS as a whole. Some tightening of screws here and there. but pretty solid. That said, I have been seeing this annoying Mail bug for at least the past 2 iOS updates, where Mail opens to the last email from which I clicked through to auto-launch Safari, as opposed to opening in my Inbox. Only fix I have found is I have to delete the email from which I clicked through. Only then, will Mail auto-launch in my expected Inbox and not a specific email. Super annoying little bug.
