Before anyone goes and harasses ucfgrad93 for resurrecting such an old thread, he didn't do it. A couple of spammers did and we (mods) removed their posts, thus making it seem like ucfgrad93 did.

The new Outlook is pretty nice, indeed. I'm very tied into Google though, so I will continue with Gmail until further notice.

Not Yahoo.

http://thenextweb.com/insider/2013/...l-users-continue-reporting-hacking-incidents/

Yahoo Mail users have been seeing their accounts broken into for months. While Yahoo says it has plugged at least two separate security holes leading to accounts getting hijacked, it appears the problem persists.

It’s unclear how long these attacks have been going on for, though we did first report Yahoo Mail users were seeing their accounts compromised back in early January. We’re now in March, and it appears that Yahoo still has a big problem on its hands.

Not only are we still getting reports from individual Yahoo users about their accounts getting hacked, but we are seeing spikes in traffic from Google to our previous stories. We believe these clicks represent a rise in users realizing their inboxes have been hijacked after hackers send out a bunch of emails from already compromised accounts.

I have been using GMail since it debuted, the experience only gets better everyday. I remember coming home from a week long camping trip and finding my AOL inbox completely filled (literally to the point where it wouldn't accept anything more) of pure spam.

I haven't seen a single spam e-mail show up in my inbox for about six months now.

Long time yahoo user and personally never had any problems. *knock on wood*

I also have a gmail acct. To be honest I really don't notice a difference between either, I'm just drawn to yahoo more just based on my history.

I use Gmail as my main email account except for banking and investments. For that I use my Verizon account. I use Postbox as my mail client.

I personally think Yahoo is on the same level as AOL. Can't stand both

Gmail is hard to beat. Integrated with blockbuster Google & it's excellent ecosystem is convenient fast & free.

Haters cry about privacy, but it's too late. That horse left the barn years ago. Besides its big data & the evil insurance companies that make any tech company look like novices when it comes to grabbing your personal info.

I use a highly secure encrypted off shore company for sensitive email, yet Gmail is my favorite for all else.

GMail all the way. It has the best web UI, the best security (Google's two step authentication is second to none, aside from maybe my bank), great syncing with Android (not just with emails but with the calendar and contacts too), a lot of space, it's very reliable...

There's no reason not to use GMail quite honestly. And before anyone says "OMG GOOGLE SPIES ON YOU!!1111!!1", all free mail providers do that aside from maybe iCloud, and I wouldn't trust iCloud at all given the terrible security record it has for being easily hackable through social engineering and the lack of two-step authentication.

Gmail is the best IMO. Most features and reliability. I guess you could say the web interface is "boring" but for a permanent email address I'd rather have the stability of Gmail. Plus it all looks the same when it gets pulled on my mail applications.

I've been using gmail forever and it has always worked great for me. It's integrated with everything else Google that I use.

I use Google, mostly because its the best way (that I've found) to run email for our family's domain.
