I should have been more clear in my post. It depends on which version of the DT990 you get. 32ohm, 250ohm or 600ohm. 600ohm is easily the best but needs at least an Fiio E9. 250ohm probably a Cmoy. 32ohm I have no clue. Honestly anyone looking into DT990 should just go 600ohm or get something else altogether.

p.s. I have the HD600 and HD650 along with a bunch of other cans. Both sound rather bad out of an iPod but probably better than the Beats still... The only 2 I have that I can't tell the diff with or without an amp is AT A900 and AD700. I agree though sound is relative and it is best to try it out yourself if possible.

At the least a Fiio E9. Better would be something like the Little Dot MK III. Expect to add another $200 to your budget on top of the $300.

Yes. I'm listening to the DT990/600 right now using my Fiio E10 and it works perfectly on Lo-Gain for me. The E10 may not be the ideal amp, but it would suffice anyone for the time being until they are ready to decide if they'd like to take the leap into a more "hi-fi" setup.

I'd recommend you these for your taste:

Beyerdynamics DT880/250
Sennheiser HD580/600/650
(the HD650 may be a dark headphone, but it is warm and smooth with really [excuse me] "luscious" bass)
AIAIAI TMA-1

It's a project to find what fit's your taste so be patient.
^ This. Research on a site dedicated to the topic you're looking into. You use MacRumors for Apple info, right?. Use a site like HeadFi for headphone info.

Sound is a very subjective matter and you need to purchase based on your preferences -- not by polling others. You might as well use darts if you're polling.

Tks all guys,

I got Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium 600 Ohm and E10 headphone amplifier

I am happy with that
