Just thinking, why not use online petition, i.e. change.org, if we want to attract Apple's interest on our concerns?

thanks.

The hate is strong. And surprisingly still going strong.
I thought it might be interesting to know what the biggest issue is. Now obviously there could be a number of reasons, but let's see where this lands. I've allowed for 2 choices.
Personally, it's all about the price.
Maybe someone at Apple will see this and make some changes.

The Apple price hike, combined with the Brexit price hike in the UK and the cost of extra adaptors and cables to use my existing stuff means it's jumped out of my price range for this year.

Price at first, though that's not the biggest issue, it's the keyboard , I own the 12 MacBook and compared to my retina the keyboard is very poor, it's like typing on paper, form over function.

For short periods , it's okay , but as a daily machine ... probably another dongle to a keyboard .

I'd probably be okay with the new MacBook Pro had it had the old keyboard .

You really just have to try it, it's a personal choice

Mainly price. I also think they should've kept the MagSafe, but I can see the reasoning behind removing it and it is practical to be able to use the same charger for different devices (of course not the iPhone, which is a major annoyance).

Magsafe
Keyboard
USB Ports
SD Card slot
Price

I'd rather they sold a model minus the touchbar but with those above^

My biggest complaint is the wait till mine arrives :)

I'm pretty tired of the negativity. If you don't want it don't buy it.

No with the exception of "I'm buying a DELL XPS" group, people are fully vested and will continue to be in the Apple products and ecosystem. We all should speak out of why we're unhappy as Mac users/stakeholders, as proven by the price decreases, Apple is listening.

The motto of this response is, you don't have to be Taylor Swift to voice your opinion to Apple.

Go to http://apple.com/feedback/ and select Macbook Pro and TELL Apple why you are not happy. The more feedback they get the better. I filled it in because i want MagSafe back. There is no excuse for the removal of one of the Macbooks greatest features. USB C is not a better solution.

Didn't know about this. Thanks. Will do it now.

Edit: Doesn't work right for me

Edit2: WOW. the comment box does not appear in Safari, but works fine in Firefox. Perhaps the feedback form needs feedback ?

I can't get it to work, Firefox says the site is not secure.

I don't have any issues with it. The price is a little bit off putting but otherwise it's a perfect computer for modern world.

I personally use bluetooth and cloud services for pretty much everything so getting rid of legacy ports is just a step forward from my perspective.

Oh my lord. I have just had my first taste of the new MBP. I have to say for the professional user e.g. journalist, or someone who does a fair bit of typing this is a huge fail. The keyboard is absolutely awful, the butterfly keys are simply no good for the pro user. There simply isn't enough travel or feel - Apple what were you thinking?

This may be okay as a consumer product but for a serious pro user - a big fat NO!

What has happened to Apple - they have simply stopped listening to their customers.

Who spends 800+ on a cell phone ? Those same people can throw down a couple thousand for a laptop.
I've never had an iPhone, but my Galaxy Note 5 (64GB) wasn't cheap. And I don't think iPhone or rMBP is overpriced more that it's competitors. Those who say otherwise compare high-end to mid/low-end devices and think they're out smarting everyone else

I think I agree with you, but your post was a little confusing. The nearest MBP competitor with the MS SurfaceBook also is priced similarly (>$2000), so I think we are saying the same thing.
Regardless, I am going to enjoy the new machine, non-pro features and all. And then show it to all the haters to make them jealous ;)

I'd say Surface Book is so different, that it's not a competitor. It's a 1.6kg (a bit heavy) 13" ULV touchscreen tablet with amazing screen, detachable keyboard with second battery and optional mid-range dGPU. It has awful battery life as a tablet but amazing battery life as a laptop. And for the i7 ULV + 965M modification it's also very expensive.

Main competitors for the 15" rMBP are (I'm my opinion!) Thinkpad P50, Dell XPS 15 and Razer Blade 14. And once you go and check them in-depth you'd quickly realize that neither offer a significant advantage over another. It's all about having multiple compromises because there's no perfect laptop. For example, Razer Blade has incredible GTX 1060 which is very good for 3D games, but it's overpowered for any regular usage. So if you need dGPU for hardware acceleration you'd have to use it and it'll result in much worse battery life compared to Apple's mid range offerings. Not everyone is a hardcore gamer. P50 and XPS have different set of compromises. Overall rMBP is not bad or overpriced, Apple isn't stupid and once you go in-depth you'll understand it.

Nothing so far. Like everyone else I have not had a chance to try out the 15" system I would likely buy. I suspect I will not like the keyboard, since I did hate the rMB, but will reserve judgement until I can try one.

Definitely the price hike. If Apple really had to sell the base 15", should have included a 512gb SSD & Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory.

I don't mind the usb-c & dongles and the lack of SD card slot. I use SD cards a lot, but I guess I'm ok with using something like the Thunderbolt dock.
