Cheapest: Lots of chocolate and fried foods. Make sure that the fried foods is NOT fried in vegetable oil, fried in lard only.

My question is what's the fastest way to drop body fat? The older you get, the harder it is. I'm not obese but overweight. A tough pill to swallow when 45 min of running, 3 times a week, used to take care of this issue. The "old" back won't allow me to run any more.![]()

I don't know why people have the misconception that it is easy to get as big as a body builder just by lifting weights.
Well to build body mass, you need to lift weights. Don't worry about building too much mass, that's actually hard to do (if it wasn't everyone would be huge). Eat a high protein diet to help with building mass.
I've really oversimplified it, but essentially that's what you need to do. Hopefully someone else can elaborate a bit more for you.
