What is the cheapest data plan (T-mobile) for the iphone

OP, you have a 3GS and you want to run it on an Edge network? That's like having a Ferrari and driving it only in your driveway. You have a $700 phone for nothing. Sell it get a 2g and pay for your plan for a year.

I believe its 250MB but Im not 100%
With Edge speeds it will be hard to hit it I believe unless you're on it alot.

Thanks! You make a good point about Edge . I'll probably just be using it for Siri, Maps, and Mail anyway, so 250mb should be more than enough.

Turns out though, that my old t-mobile phone got disconnected because it'd hadn't been used in so long . I guess short of paying them to re-activate it, I'd have to buy a new sim+prepaid account to have any chance of this working?

True, but there's also the updated hardware to consider (cpu, multitasking support in 4.0, compass, gps, and auto-focus camera).
