Didn't watch Andrew Marr's programme this morning, because, to us this own words, it had been "binned" on account of the terrorist attacks in London.

My parent got a Roomba vacuum a while ago, and it only came with one virtual wall. This is fine for most rooms, but the kitchen is open on two sides, leaving us to block one side with random objects. So I desoldered the IR LED from an old remote and connected it to a Raspberry Pi with Linux Infrared Remote Controller installed.
I configured LIRC to send out a pulse with the same frequency and timeout as the included virtual wall, and…

Introduced my old (1 year old) cat to the new kitten in the house. Much growling and hissing from the elder is going on. She ain't happy.
