My grandparent showed me some slides of family photos from their childhood but didn't have projection equipment, so we spent the next couple of hours experimenting with lenses, lights, scanners, and cameras, trying to capture as much detail in the slides as we could.

The end results were pitifully unprofessional, but they were happy to finally make out the figures obscured by the small size of the slides.

They look pretty good

Washed the breakfast dishes in (very) slo-mo while watching a drama unfold on the front lawn. A fairly large fledgling robin half-flew and half-flopped out of the spruce tree onto the grass. Instantly both parents appeared from "nowhere" on the lawn, each of them four feet away from the baby, facing out like a security detail... papa then flew up to the phone line to have a better view of any enemies in the area, while mama frantically dug around in the lawn until she found something "delicious" to take over to the fledgling. After a few more snacks, the baby looked around for something else to do, and then hopped after his mama as she tried to lead him back towards the spruce. When they got to the shelter of its branches, the baby turned into a rebel and flew up into the lilac nearby instead. I predict a good outcome here lol.

The shaving cream thread reminded me: today I shaved. I have almost no facial hair (other than a barely visible bit on my chin) and I shave maybe once a month. It was mad real :)

What age are you?

And, have you Asian - or any sort of native American Indian - ancestry?

A good French friend of mine hardly needs to shave at all; his father was French and his mother Vietnamese, and, into his seventies, he retains a thick head of wavy hair, and an almost entirely beardless face, apart from some tiny stubble on his chin.

I'm 18 (I'll be 19 in August), so it's possible that this is more the result of me being a late bloomer than anything else, since I don't seem to have any Asian or Native American ancestry (I'm mostly of French and Belgian descent). But I do have a cousin who's 26 and has facial hair almost exclusively on his chin (he's also blond like me), so it may be that's what's in store for me (not that I mind--if I had more facial hair I'd just shave it off anyway, since it's not really my look). :)

Thank you for answering.

I thought to ask your age as I suspected that if you were still a teenager, that your full physical development might not have concluded yet.

Needless to say, your age is none of my business, and I didn't wish to come across as seeking to pry into your personal life.

However, I will add that one of my two brothers was a late bloomer, or, what we termed a late developer. Starting university, he looked around 16, and certainly wasn't shaving daily until he reached his early twenties, whereas my other brother was so well developed for his age that he was able to gain entrance to pubs at the age of 16 (alcohol is legally served to 18 year olds in our countries) as he looked at though he was the legal age at which he could be served alcohol.

Nevertheless, there are those who have limited facial hair growth - such as my French friend, which was something that he attributed to his Vietnamese mother; as it happened, that same man's brother was bald and sported a thick, dark beard, while my friend - who is now well into his 70s, - has hardly any facial hair and never had, but has a thick head of dark blond, now grey, wavy hair.

Oh no, that's fine, I believe it's listed in my profile anyway, so I have no desire to hide it :) It's funny, when people go purely based off of what I write, they often assume I'm older, but if they see my physical appearance, they may assume I'm younger. Such is life :p I have a friend who's 19 and he never gets carded--one cashier guessed his age at 28.

Either way, I'll welcome whatever changes may come (or not come)--it's never been a big concern of mine. At least my voice has deepened, I thought that would never happen (took until I was 16 for any real change).

Enjoy not having to shave everyday. It gets pretty boring when you add up all those hours you'll do it in your life.

I know.

One the one hand, you have teenage guys anxiously scanning mirrors for the first fleeting tentative appearance of a bristle or two, and celebrating, and then, by the time they are in their twenties, realising that this is a bit of a pain, and something that they will have to address daily - or, in some cases, twice daily - for the rest of their life.

I pretty much had a full beard going on at 15/16. Never had a problem growing hair.

It really does vary from guy to guy; as mentioned above, it was very different with each of my two brothers, and later, I saw the same thing with students, some guys arrived at university, not having had their full spurt of physical growth, faces still completely clear, looking as though they weren't a day older than fifteen, even though they were seventeen and attending university; two or three years later, they were a good bit taller and needed to use some sort of razor.

I used to regularly go to the pub at 14/15 no issues. Yet my friend in his 30's would always get asked for ID. Of course he doesn't look his age now that he is 53, so I guess he had the last laugh.

I'm 40 and need to shave about once a week so you just may end up like me.
