Lets talk about some of the potential realistic, though may be far fetched ideas that Apple could really wow us with tomorrow. We've seen the Macbook Air. Is the Retina Macbook Pro after this long delay, really just going to be an update that only makes up what is long overdue? What is the one thing that would really "wow" you if this new Haswell Retina Macbook pro is unveiled tomorrow?

For me, I think it would be really awesome if Apple were to somehow strike a deal with 3M to incorporate Silicon Anode instead of the standard lithium ion batteries. On top of using nanowires, this technology provides a 40% to battery life over the common lithium ion that we've seen in a large majority of electronic devices these days. If the Ubuntu Phone were to have successfully been funded, it would have used this technology, though sadly it did not receive enough funding/supporters despite generating a buzz.

Mavericks + Silicon Anode + Haswell = PURE WIN in the best battery life department.

New chassis design.

They've supposedly been working on producing components out of the LiquidMetal material they purchased the rights to a while ago.

The aluminum is nice as far as general sturdiness and lightness, but it's a bit prone to light scratches and dings. Liquidmetal would be a nice improvement in that department and also might let them mix up the colors a bit.

The retina chassis is only 12 months old so I doubt you will see anything aside from very minor engineering improvements.

Battery life is my thing, so that would be big. Here is the new 15 inch rmbp with 15 hours of battery life.

My first Mac so I guess I would be impressed by a same day or even same week release. I really need a new laptop. If I can get it by the end of the week I will be ecstatic.

Outside of that I would like to see the new processor, which should be obviously in it, 512 ssd, 16 gigs of ram and hopefully a better GPU for 2500 bucks or less.

I will purchase ASAP if:

1) IGZO
2) Haswell
3) Slimmer/Lighter
also...
4) UMM DOES IT COME IN BLACK? (sorry thats a joke, but those fake renders looked sick ;))

Thunderbolt 2 and 3 Thunderbolt ports (both of mine are being used 24/7).

one is being used for 20" Apple Cinema Display, second one is being used to power my iSght Firewire camera (in no hurry to get a Thunderbolt 2 Display with USB3, Thinner display of iMac, Magsafe 2, and maybe even Audio in/out, and 2 Thunderbolt ports (Hey I lile using my stereo for my music).

This! And, if only three: IGZO, slimmer/lighter, and black!

screen

I would be wowed by Apple putting back the additional protective glass layer on top of the LCD panel, preferably Gorilla glass 3, so that every smallest spec of dust wouldn't leave indentations in the screen that costs 700usd to replace!
I am staying with my 2012 cMBP until this happens.

I currently own a 13" rMBP which replaced a cMBP 17" If Apple ever make a 17" retina version, and I happen to have won the lottery, then I might bite..as it stands, my current Macbook is a great machine...fast and super clear text.
