I have a 6+, but I voted 4.7. I tolerate the extra size/heft to get a full HD screen.

If the 6S is full HD, that's probably going to be my next phone.

Just curious - why is this so important to you? I thought the iPhone 6 screen is pretty sharp already. Would you trade a full HD screen for a battery life decrease?

I have both the iPhone 6 & Nexus 5, I find that 5" is the perfect screen size for a smartphone so voted for 4.9"-5.1".

IF the iPhone 7 came with a 5" 1080p screen & slimmer bezels that would be perfect for me.

The screen on the iPhone 6 is sharp, but the 6 plus is better. Going from 326 ppi to 401 ppi makes a difference, especially if you are reading text. Games and video look sharper.

I'm not sure I understand your question about battery life...I don't particularly care about battery life. I have chargers all over the place so that doesn't really factor into my decision on what phone to buy.

A higher res screen would consume more battery life. I'd wager more people care about that than the screen.

There isn't a perfect size.

For my personal requirements the 6" display of my Nexus 6 is much more useful than the 5.5" of my iP6 Plus. 1/2" is significantly smaller and does make a difference.

The perfect size is what fits you best.

That being said, it seems the 4.5-.7" screen seems to fits how people use modern phones and maintaining decent ergonomics well.

Well, I'm not speaking for most people. Didn't you ask why it was important to *me*?

I didn't mean to sound rude, I was just pointing out why I think it's extremely unlikely.

Having not had to endure a 326 ppi phone since September, I can't remember what anything less than 401 looks like :D

Ah gotcha. Yeah I'm not holding my breath. Apple would not likely do that and I can't really blame them.

I'm *mostly* used to the plus, but every now and again I miss the form factor of the iPhone 6 I got on launch day. Sometimes I even miss my trusty 5S (which my wife now uses). But I'm a sucker for a pretty screen :D

I know what you mean - I saw someone using a 5s on a TV show today and it just looked a really nice, convenient size.

But then I remember I can now watch House of Cards comfortably on my phone on the bus, browse full websites much more easily, read books, et cetera et cetera and all my silly nostalgia disappears!

No perfect size for all people but for me it could be 4.5" or 6" depending on where I am going and my mood.

poll is useless anyone who is really serious about finding the perfect screen, is not going to make there decision based on some poll. they are just going to go to the store and try them out, until they fine what they think is the perfect phone for said person.

but then again this is a apple site. and most apple users can think there way out of a paper bag. they just getr whatever there friends are using. JMHO

There is no such thing as the perfect phone size, when dealing with individuals with various backgrounds, conditions, and needs.

The best phone size is the one that fits your particular needs.

I like large screens as you're able to see things more clearly, but it comes at a cost of needing both hands. I truly feel the iPhone 6 plus is definitely too big for everyday and ease of use. I remember owning the Nexus 5 which is 4.7" and it felt perfect.

Definitely will be downgrading to a smaller version this September when it's time for my annual upgrade.

I wish every company can pull what LG does with their G3 squeezing that Display in that Body.

I'm finding that 4.7-4.8 is the sweet spot for me. I've quite enjoyed this size on three phones so far: Galaxy S3, Nexus 5 and now iPhone 6. Very ergonomic and comfortable one hand use; it also fits nicely and comes out easily from my pocket.

Looks like the sweet spot for most is between 4.7 and 5.1 then. So no 7-inch phones.
For people that commented, I'm not looking for the perfect screen size for me, I can work that out for myself, I just wanted to know what people in general consider a perfect size, and the variation between them

3.5" I love the discretion of the 4S.

My best friend has a Blackberry Z10 (4.2") and feels very very good, too.

Perfect screen size changes over time like moods do. Fickle we are. I remember when going beyond 4" was enough. Our answers might change after a day, week, month, or year. If you tried all the screen sizes after a certain amount of time, then maybe you have a good grasp on what is ideal for you.

Speaking of 4", it isn't so bad after awhile especially if you own a 10" tablet. It can be refreshing after awhile too just like if you were stuck on 3.5-4" for so long only to feel freshness with 5.5" or above. People just learn to adapt...
