Problably this year Apple wont make change in the design and the screen size. I think next year the Iphone 7 will be 5 inch and 7 Plus will be 6 inch. Thats what I think. I wont go back to 4 inch screen again

Just curious - why is this so important to you? I thought the iPhone 6 screen is pretty sharp already. Would you trade a full HD screen for a battery life decrease?

The A9 is 14nm die; so it will need much less power!
I hoping for a 1080p HD screen on the 4.7" and double that on the 5.5" in native screen resolution.

I use FileMaker Go on my iPhone 4 for work. So for that application I need as much screen real estate as I can get. Otherwise I have to layer everything behind tabs, which starts to make navigation difficult. With the exception of FMG, the screen works pretty well for me.

I've used my wife's iPhone 5c and find the keyboard a better fit, but haven't tried to do anything with FMG on it. But the extra height would do wonders for my layouts.

Beyond FileMaker, I don't have any issues with smaller screens.

I answered 5.9-6.3", only if the phone is thin enough and the bezels are minimal. Make this gallup again in 5-6 years and I think more people will agree with me.

A 5.5" screen with slimmed-down bezels and a non-protruding camera. Also a minimum of 11 hours' heavy usage time from the battery. The 6+ has a good battery life but it needs to be a little better still, like it was with 8.0 through 8.1.1

totally agree .. let's hope that will be the iPhone 7 plus since they probably are not changing the bezels in the 6s plus

The perfect "phone" size would be as small and minimalist and convenient as possible.

However, the perfect 'portable computer with many many built-in functions, including a phone' (also known as smartphone) size will vary depending upon how you wish to use that portable device, and how it overlaps with other portable devices you own.

I would like something right at 5" or 5.1"

This is the best answer in this thread.

As a phone, I liked the 5/5S size. As a portable computer I like 5" or so.

4.7 gets me by fine and I enjoy it. However 5.5 also seems really, really great. I haven't lived with a 5.5 inch phone though so I don't know if it would in fact bother me. I've used them and they seem doable but that doesn't give me a good idea of what real world use would be like.

I currently own an iPhone 6 and this display size is great. However, the idea of having a 6 plus seems amazing in many aspects as well. I have used my friend's 6 Plus and I've used a 6 Plus in an Apple Store, both were awesome. Even though they seemed easy enough to use with their size, I can't know how it is for sure until I get to use one as my daily driver for a bit, get to see how it fares in real world use. Not sure if I would be willing to take the plunge and get one because if I don't enjoy the largeness of the device, I can't really go back easily because I am the type of person who likes to get phones on contract... Paying $700+ upfront for a phone is a bit much for me, unfortunately.

As acceptable/average phone and phablet size gets bigger and bigger, I wonder if folks still feel the same. The wife has an SE, and my of my students have + models, but my iPhone 6's size is still ideal for my needs.

Now, I would reduce bezels and make it less slippery, but the size is good.

From the existing line - the 4” SE,
but the ideal phone for my needs would be the SE body size and weight with edge to edge 4.3”- 4.5” screen size (bezel-less).

I think 5.5" would be perfect if they could get rid of the bezels. I used a Note 7 for 2 weeks until the recall and it had a 5.7" screen with no bezel and it was perfect to hold. If Apple can keep the large screen and reduce the overall size, mostly in the width it would be insanely great.

I feel like 5 could be nice. Like you have a nice pretty big screen and your phone isn't as big (and difficult to use) as a phablet. Like the S7.
Just saying, even if I've been using Plus models and will keep on doing so..

Most accessories will only fit 6" and below so anything over 6" you will have a hard time and less options to buy accessories

For me I like 5". However I hate to trade battery life for size so I'd just pick the largest one

My perfect size is the biggest phone I can unobtrusively out in most of my pants pockets. So just a bit smaller than my 6.
