Always get the largest form factor, the battery increase alone has historically been worth it but you can never really go wrong with having a bigger screen. You might not always need the biggest screen but I'd rather have too much when I don't need it than not enough when I do.

Camera is worth it too. Firstly I don't like having "second best" but I actually use the Telephoto lens a lot, possibly even more than standard camera because I'm usually using it at gigs or events where things may be further away. On the complete flip side, the wide angle will be awesome for filming my BMX clips or taking photos of larger things at museums etc such as planes. The 3 options will be brilliant all round.

OLED too. At the time the X came out I couldn't justify the higher price and in some ways I'm glad that I missed it for the 8 Plus, in others not so much. Anyway, this will be my first OLED phone and it already feels 2 years too late, I was not willing to deny myself for another 2 years.

I'm not really fussed about the finish tbh. As long as any front bezels are black I'm happy to just go with the 'closest to black' option so I've been a space grey owner since my first iPhone, the 5S. Stainless Steel bands will be nice though. It's not something I'm particularly bothered about but I do think they suit the premium glass design so much better,

I’m in a similar position to you. I skipped the X for the 8, as I didn’t think the X was worth its price. I’ve reserved an iPhone 11 Pro, and I’m really looking forward to OLED and FaceID (although I do love TouchID!). I feel so behind the curve with my 8, so can’t wait to get my new 11 Pro.

I’m by no means a professional photographer but I do travel a lot and go to a lot of cool events, and I just like having the best camera available (on an iPhone...I know there is debate about android but I’ll never switch). I’m going on vacation and to an NFL game this fall, and I’m excited to take pics with the Pro.

Going with the 11 pro because I don’t want a BIG phone. I would gladly buy the 11 if it were smaller. It has nothing to do with specs for me. Do I want to pay $300 more? No I don’t. But I also don’t want a big phone. I would buy the Xs but it’s only going 5o be $100 dollars cheaper the the 11 pro. Oh well. I keep my phones for about 3 years ( I have the 7 now) so I will bite the bullet and get the size I want.

Same here! I love the size of the X and as I have small hands, the 6.1” on the 11 will make a difference. I also am excited to experiment with the camera features.

OLED. Had one on my Note 9, and while my 8 Plus has a nice screen, it can't compare to an OLED at night.

This. I held off last year (mainly because I was a year into my contract and felt silly upgrading from my 8+). I also had to get use to the notch (when seeing the phone in other peoples hands, got a few family members that bought the X).But now, I'm ready for OLED especially with iOS Dark Mode. It's only the second time I've ever pre-ordered.

Gonna be grand day on the 20th. New phone, new iOS...damn.

For me the answer is easy. I want the best possible configuration I can get and I would never get a device with such a low display resolution, even if I know that in real life and for most cases it doesn't really bother. I also like a big display and the iPhone 11 just doesn't offer that. Overall, I don't want Apple's budget device. The only thing I like about the iPhone 11 are the colours and I would like to see them in the Pro line too..especially the red one..

Most people don't need telephoto lenses to take baby pictures. The wide/ultrawide lenses will take identical photos between 11 and 11 pro.

That’s the exact same thing I thought. But it’s still a story op is telling herself to buy the more expensive phone.

I work in film, so I use my phone a lot on set to shoot reference stills and use as a directors view finder. It's going to be great to have every lens focal length available to use now. Previously you couldn't go wide enough to show them all off.

This is a great thread. I went the opposite. After years of going for the best model, this is the first time I went with the 11 over the pro.

Extra camera and OLED. The marketing is great for both but not for 600 aud.

I remember thinking the lcd on my 6s plus was great at the time. I’m sure the lcd on the 11 will be awesome.

A lot of photographers here and I also take a lot of photos. 99% of them end up on my computers disk and never looked at again. Lol.

Had an XR, wanted smaller so went for the regular Pro. Although it’s not much on paper, the extra size of the 11 is just too uncomfortable for me.

Camera is the other reason, as a photographer I get fed up carrying my kit with me when a great phone camera will do the job for my own personal shots.

OLED for me. I'd choose the 11 if it had OLED (and thinner bezels, which I guess it would in that case). I'll enjoy all the things the Pro does better, camera, specs etc, but honestly I could live without them. I'd prefer the lighter weight of the 11. But OLED is the dealbreaker.

Not so much OLED, I could live with LCD, it's the low PPI of the XR/11 that's the deal breaker for me.

Yeah good point and that definitely plays in for me too, although not as much. I see it more as that extra crisp being a sweet bonus on the XS/Max, but I could actually live with the PPI of the XR/11. That organic, magic glow of OLED though....I just can't unsee it. I read a lot with white text on black background and that's just another world on OLED, at least to my eyes.

The name. I want everybody to think I'm a "pro" user, and better than them. I'll also get a green phone so everybody knows it's the latest and most expensive phone around.
Or perhaps I won't bother.
Thank you all for reading, comments welcome

Photographer, I’m just sick of carrying a larger camera for everyday shots, travel etc. Pre-ordered an 11 Pro Max, a Moment case and some Moment lenses.

What are your thoughts on the lenses? I wanted to start buying lenses and a gimbal as I am not that serious into photography to buy a camera and what not, so figured this would be the best thing to do.

I have an X now and am planning to go with the 11 pro because I want to switch carriers and they are offering an good incentive to switch over.

Have you ever smelled babies that need a diaper change? They’re still cute and could be making photogenic facial expressions before they’re whisked away for a change. But unless your nose (and your soul) is dead from doing all the diaper changes yourself, taking photos from a few feet away sounds like a fine idea to me! :D Bring on that zoom lens!

I chose the Pro Max over the 11 due to the camera. Especially when I saw the 11 only had 5x digital zoom. I actually use the digital zoom on my phones.

Haven't purchased yet, waiting for the launch day mayhem to die down. But, for me it is pro 11 for 5.8 form factor, battery life, and 4x4 mimo
