Because someone at work had the great idea of pulling everyone closer to the office by forcing us to use iPhones... now they're even closer to us all the time and never leave us alone! Good thing calls are always dropping.

I got the iPhone for a multitude of reasons, the biggest being that my iPod and cell phone felt outdated and I liked the idea of combining it into a single device. Since then, its usefulness has increased for me especially with Sprint relay that I can use through AIM since I'm hard of hearing. Not only that, I can log into school wherever and whenever as long as I have reception plus stay in touch with friends. The App store definitely has been a mixed blessing and I say mixed because it's too tempting to buy apps. Really couldn't be any happier with a device and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

I've been using BBs for four years. I finally got the iPhone 3GS because it had the basic features a $49 phone would have:

MMS
Video
Decent Camera
Good BlueTooth

Now, I LOVE my BB but overall I enjoy the iPhone better due to:

1. The apps are WAAAY better and WAAAY cheaper! An average BB app is $9 to $20. iPhone apps are under a dollar to $2-5 bucks...that's nuts!

2. Interface and UI

3. Ease of linking with my MacBook

4. Internet Browser

this will sound stupid:

i bought my 3g in December because our drummer had one and showed me the google maps app. everything is just cherry on top. i'm being serious.. this was a huge step up from my palm treo (i do miss the qwerty, though)

I got it because it has the best mobile browser. Before the 3GS I would have said I would want a blackberry if not for it's crappy browser but I've been so impressed and pleased with the 3GS that I probably won't consider anything else for awhile.

iPod with built in email, phone and browser comparable to a desktop.

Also nes emulator and couple other things.

This was when 2G just came out and you still had to manually upload each icon to make a theme

i got an iphone so everybody thinks im rich...:p

because apparently only rich people can afford iphones.

See how many times I could hear the same ole pick up line;

Is that an iPhone?

Mool-Teee-Touch.

So hot...

Ehem..... So anyway. I originally purchased the iPod Touch after seeing a friend's iPhone. I didn't think the phone part was worth it at the time. How wrong I was. I think it was the next night we were sitting in a movie theater and I was attempting to use the public wifi and it was failing miserably. My buddy pulled out his iPhone and handed it to me and I was able to do what I had wanted and hadn't been able to do on my iPod. I took it back the next day and paid the difference for the iPhone.

So in short, connectivity everywhere. But I originally purchased the platform because of the multi-touch interface. It's gorgeous.

There's not one singular reason as to why I own an iPhone. But, I absolutely love how elegant and beautiful the whole device is, from the outer shell design, to the gorgeous screen, and the intuitiveness and ease of use. One of the main things I love about Apple is that they really don't seem to skimp on the minor details. In a thread a few moments ago I was remarking on how beautiful the battery logo is when you're charging. A minor and completely insignificant detail, but still something that impresses me.

I've never had a nice phone before I had an iPhone. I've always been stuck with hand me down or prepaid phones before this. I felt it was time that I bought a device like the iPhone that satisfied my desire to own sexy tech, fulfilled my mobile phone needs, and gave me internet anywhere and something to play with when I'm bored.

I'm really happy to own an iPhone, like I said I've went through alot of garbage phones and to now have arguably the coolest and most sought after mobile phone is pretty neat.

I remember my friend got the original iPhone, and I was making fun of him cause he thought he was cool. then I said to him "you mean you can't even send and receive picture messages?" then I bought three apple computers, and got tired of my phones not interfacing well with them. I also hated having a million different devices in my pocket. it's not like there's a lot of room in there :p . we were on at&t anyway, so I sold my iPod and some other stuff and got the 3gs.

now the jokes on me since I still can't mms

I upgraded from the iPod touch. Those devices are the most wonderful things that I have had the pleasure of using. The iPhone is such a brilliant piece of technology that brings me such joy, and there is always new stuff to do with it, so it never gets old. :D

Any luck? :p

Best phone available in Japan for native English speakers.
Good point.

The other day I was riding with my co-worker. She was driving. She asked me to make a call to our boss and use her phone. Typical Japanese phone. Opened it up and I could not read the display as the characters were too small.

I don't have an iPhone yet, but am seriously looking at getting one. Right now I have a 1st gen 32GB iPod touch and love it. Having the same functionality with a phone, camera, GPS, and compass is sure tempting. Plus it's easy to read without my reading glasses. :D

I have a Mac, so I got the iPhone.
That's what is so cool about the iPhone/iPod touch is the integration with iTunes. Plus the app store. You can do so much with one easy to carry device. :)

As a long time iPod touch owner, I thought it was time to upgrade to a touch that has Internet everywhere and knocks out the need to carry another device that I gotta carry around. I'm not big into phone feature (if it texts then it's good enough), but love music and the Internet, so I love that about the iPhone, even though to others that's a bad thing. I want a phone second, iPod and Internet first.
