Can't pinpoint the worst movie I've ever seen, but a few come to mind: Time Bandits, Sixteen Candles, the Jurassic Park from 2023 (or maybe it was 2022, can't remember), and Top Gun Maverick. But I'm also extremely picky about movies--there are very few that I actually like.

Time Bandits, and Sixteen Candles are generally considered classics of that era....

12 to the Moon.
I watched it as a 15-year-old Sci-Fi fan. It was the only movie of its type ever that I stopped watching after only a few minutes. It was so dreadful, bad science, bad props (everything was made of plywood, so badly you could tell on a 21" B/W TV).
The Blob, Creature from the Black Lagoon are all shining lights of movie creations compared.
I even watched all the way through The Crawling Hand. But not that film.
Even now, the memories are painful.

Recently watched Casino Royale (1967) with David Niven, Peter Sellers, et al. Just awful. Has not held up over time whatsoever. Very much a movie of that chaotic pop culture period.

Not even the soundtrack saved it for you? But yes the views are of its time.
Awful movie (I didn't even like it when I first saw it as a teenager, on TV, over the Christmas holidays quite a few years ago), with an excellent soundtrack, which still doesn't redeem the sheer dreadful dross of the movie.

Same here. I saw it during adolescent years and didn't think it was good but just ok. Though it seemed to be a big hit then. Giving it a try again decades later (now) it seemed really so much worse. I don't know if my tastes have changed or time has made it so dated and weird. I'm a big fan of Peter Sellers, though in that unfortunate mess.

The Shawshank Redemption and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Ah, no.

Both are considered classics.
Both great films.
Absolutely agreed
I don't accept anyone likes The Shawshank Redemption or The Good, the bad and the Ugly.
As is - or, ought to be - clear from this thread alone - quite a number of us like (even love) both movies.

Personally, I think both of them to be classics.
They both drag on for hours and move at a snails pace. I know some critics like those kind of movies, but I detest them.
That allows for both plot and character development.

Personally, I like movies that allow for such development. Then, again, I also like theatre.

A lot of people these days have a shorter attention span when watching tv/films, they prefer quick, short insta…nonesense.
Unfortunately, this is all too lamentably true.
Let’s not mention the awesome Das Boot then….;)
An utterly superb film; while I prefer the German language (with sub-titles) version, to the English language version, both are excellent.

Again, both are generally considered classics. To each his own.
Completely agree with you.

Talking of awful movies I hear they are remaking Highlander (one of my favourite films).
Loved it, also.
Brilliant cast, soundtrack and story.
Completely agree; superb soundtrack, powerful story and terrific cast.
Can only see it being a disaster.
Why this silly urge to re-make movies that are already close to perfect, instead of trying to come up with something original and new and different?

And the reason should be obvious: there can be only one.
Bravo.

Very nicely done.

Does falling asleep through a movie qualify it as one of the worst movies watched? or not watch as the case may be lol because I slept through the movie Nuns on the Run and it's the only movie I have ever slept through. I was the only one left in the cinema, I stirred awake when the lights came on. the 3 friends I was with could not contain their laughter when I met them outside the cinema (they was waiting for me).

I have definitely seen a few dreadful ones, mostly the cheap SciFi ones. But most recently I think Ice T’s new War Of The Worlds film on Prime, Good grief that is sooooo bad.. I want my 2 hours of life back lol. Endless HUGE plot holes and poor acting in it.

Nah, I tend to drop off a lot these days even with a good film on haha. But I can understand why Nuns On the Run would send you to sleep hehe.
