And here's from my first panic.plist. Are you able to tell what caused both?

Just happened to me... grrr

In the process of restoring. It was completely unresponsive, holding Home/Sleep did nothing. I'm going back to iOS6 until Beta 4, I need to be able to receive phone calls.

This is why you shouldn't be using this on your primary device. It's a beta.

BTW for those who don't understand how software development works, fixing one bug can cause other more serious bugs.

now realise you're testing an operating system!

I've seen at least 4 users today post saying they would just set their phones down to idle and they'd come back to it and the screen wouldn't turn on.

Zmagik chime in I know you've been following along with me all day.

OP, please update this misleading subject line. It's not going into DFU mode. It's simply unresponsive. A hard reset will fix this problem. Ideal? No. Symptom of beta software? YES.

That's the thing about running beta software, even if your problem is legit people will just use the "it's a beta" excuse. It's a cop out really, but one of the prices you pay for running beta software.

I thought I was the only one! This happened to me SO many times in the past few days. The amount of times I've had to restore is crazy.

REALLY!? None of us using it had ANY idea? Thanks for clearing THAT up!
Whew, I was soooo worried.

Guys this happend on previous versions of iOs etc ios 6

I was gonna post the same thing, I have had this happen on almost every iOS beta I have been apart of at one time or another during the beta period.

Just hold the sleep/wake and the home button until you see the apple logo, wait for it to boot, and go on with life.

Seems like a lot of newbies don't understand that we only need to hold the button done and phone will restart.

Btw....this happens with i0S 6 (non beta) too.

This happens to me somewhat often on my jailbroken iOS 6.1.2 4s.

Its probably just a bug from incomplete or poorly implemented code. (iOS 7 IS a beta, whereas a jailbreak tweak is an amateur)

Yep, happens to me regularly. Although if you complain about it you get heckled by the fact that it's a beta.

Sorry not buying that. Beta 1 and 2 did not have a lot of users reporting this. .

And?

Beta software is beta - there may be regressions. There may be data loss. It may even brick your phone in some circumstances requiring DFU mode.

You want to run beta, this is the risk you take.

Not saying don't do it, I have and do run beta occasionally myself - but know what you're getting into.

If you have crashlogs you should be submitting them to the bug reporting site. Not here.

Sorry but this is not a Beta 3 bug. I tried IOS 7 on my iPhone 4. Beta 1 was fine, beta 2 resulting in my phone basically turning off and not responding twice within a week. I could be using it one minute, lay it down and when go to use it again it would not respond, the screen would remain black. After a few hours it did turn back on with me consistently trying the power button (i was at work and it happened at about 11am, by about 5:30pm the phone started working again). This never happened in IOS 6 and has not happened since i reverted back to IOS 6. Sadly other then the occasional app not working I liked IOS 7.

I don't understand what you are saying.. How is it not a Beta 3 bug? Are you implying that this is an intentional feature...?

This is obviously a Beta 3 bug... It has happened to me several times.

Also, an fyi, theres no need to wait "a few hours".. Simply hold both the home button and the power button for about 10 seconds and your phone will reboot.. All will be well. People really need to chill out.. The complaints I read here on a daily basis about how the beta OS is not running perfectly is absolutely retarded..

End users troubleshooting software issues while running a Beta OS is pointless. How can you knowingly run software that is not finished and expect everything to run smoothly? "It's a beta" is not a "cop out", it's a legitimate and relevant fact that pretty much ends the conversation about any software related issues you may be having.

Why should it end the conversation? Even if it's a beta there are things that can still be discussed, right?

Maybe not the best choice of words... My point is, from a troubleshooting standpoint, once one learns that you are using a Beta OS, the troubleshooting is over. At that point, there is no point trying to figure out what is wrong because it is obvious what is wrong. You are using unfinished software. This is why you cannot bring your Beta iOS 7 iPhone to the Apple store and expect them to diagnose issues for you. They will turn you away the instant they discover the Beta OS...

People on here complaining about problems and insisting that being on a Beta OS has nothing to do with it, is beyond perplexing..

There are times (and not really seldom) when there can be other factors in play that actually resolve the issue, or at least work around it or help it in some manner. Sometimes issues are there and they are not necessarily related to beta, even if they do surface only in beta, and sometimes they are but there are still other things that could be helpful in relation to them.

So, in a very general sense, what you are saying mostly applies, but there are still times when there's more to it all.

happens to mine all the time, among other abnoxious issues with iOS7, this thing has a LOOOONNNGGG way to go.

My phone does the same thing probably around once a day, but you do not need to restore to fix it! Just hold down the lock button and the home button together until the apple logo shows up (around 5-10 seconds) and your phone will boot up normally! :)

The answer to every unexpected behavior cannot be "its a beta".

The phone is literally going into recovery mode on it's own. I'm sorry that is not a "dot" missing on a calendar or unfinished icon. That is the type of a behavior that is expected in a Alpha version not a 3rd Beta which is about 45% through the project.

If it was 1 person reporting it we could dismiss it as a fluke but today alone 3-4 people have reported it. I'm going to try and follow this in coming days. There doesn't seem to be a workflow that initiates it. It seems to happen to people when their phones are idle with the screen off.

Sigh. You know Apple doesn't have to release the betas at all, right? They are meant for developers to test their apps with the new API's. people complaining is laughable since your not meant to download this if your not a dev. Now if you or anyone else aren't a dev and experiencing issues, downgrade. Why complain when you don't understand the circumstance is beyond me....
