Well I partially have my dream setup, mine would be:
8-Core 3GHz Mac Pro
16GB RAM
4TB HD with Multiple Backup Drives
2x 30" ACD

(See Sig for what I have)

15" LED Matte MBP
2.4GHz Core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
160GB 7200 RPM HD and many G-RAID Mini Drives
(Have Blackbook CD 2.0 With 2GB RAM and 80GB HD, considering upgrading to cheapest MBP but doubtful)

Blackberry Curve! :apple: :D

Nikon D3X 16MP with no noise at ISO 12800 :p
Full set of sweet Nikon glass
All Extras
Adobe Lightroom

80GB iPod
8GB iPod Nano
Orange iPod Shuffle

Canon XH-A1 with FCS
All Extras

well....

1.SR MBP 2.4, 7200 rpm 160g, 4g ram

2.an imac that hasn't even been released yet!!

3. 30 gig iphone w/ 13" external monitor that plays xbox 360 games

4. a "multi-touch" girlfriend

5. a lemon zester

I'm quite happy with what I have .... although a 30" ACD to replace my 23" would be nice. So would another 10 Gigs of RAM ... :)

I have no Idea what "deam" is but I think it would be about 5 to 10 xserves, and about 20 to 30 TB, terrabytes of storage. Ohh and a fully loaded MP 2 30" monitors (yes I could use all that)

depending on how many xserves I got my set up would cost about 70,000 to 100,000 US dollars.

My dream setup:
24" iMac
17" MacBook Pro
80GB iPod
8GB iPhone

Not bad, it only coms out to around $6,000.
And that's just the hardware. The software would be too much to list.

A home audio/visual system that is fast, has a small footprint, seamless, and just works.

1) An upgraded 20" imac to serve as a living room entertainment center using Frontrow software (waiting for upgrade).

2) An EyeTv Hybrid connected to imac to record shows in HD and add to itunes automatically (purchased).

3) An AppleTv to stream video/audio to the family room HDTV (waiting for a good deal).

4) Airport Extreme N Basestation for speedy wireless. (purchased)

Without going crazy...lol like your macpro would go well over 18grand ;)...

My DREAM is to get an updated Mac Mini. But since there is no mention of anything new....

I would get a new macbook. I have the 1.83 Core Duo, combo drive, 60gb HDD, 1GB RAM...pretty much Bottom of the barrel macbook.

White macbook.
2.16ghz Dual 2 Core
2GB Ram
200GB HDD

I also want a new gaming PC: (please don't kill me for posting this in a mac forum :p)

Dual 768MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800 Ultra
Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme QX6700 2.66GHz (Liquid Cooled)
4GB Low Latency DDR2 Performance SDRAM at 1066MHz - 4 x 1024MB
NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard
2TB (2 x 1TB) Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 2 x 32MB Cache
2 18x Dual Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Burner
1000 Watt Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply
Ageia PhysX PCI-Express Processing Unit w/ 128MB GDDR3
Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeGamer High Definition 7.1 Audio

Top it off with a nice Apple 30" HD Cinema Display..and I'm looking at about $8000 - $9000 USD. :D:D:D

I actually just bought the setup I've been lusting after for a long time.

It's a powermac cube with 1.25 gigs of memory, 80gb hard drive, a superdrive, and a 20 inch Cinema Display (the ones that match the cube).

Now all I need is probably a wireless mouse and keyboard that match and I'm good.

Apart from this I've always wanted a 17 inch macbook pro and a top of the line mac pro. Neither are very high up on my wish list though, specially since I now have a 8gb iphone to keep me entertained! Geez I wonder how much money I've spent this summer on things that I lust after (including dinners for the lady friend:p)

well....
1.SR MBP 2.4, 7200 rpm 160g, 4g ram
2.an imac that hasn't even been released yet!!
3. 30 gig iphone w/ 13" external monitor that plays xbox 360 games
4. a "multi-touch" girlfriend

lol.

My dream set up:

For Work:
SR 17" MBP. 2.4GHz, 4GB Ram, 160GB HD @ 7200RPM, Hi-Res Screen.
C2D 24" iMac. 2.33GHz, 3GB Ram, 750GB HD, 256MB VRam.

For Traveling:
C2D 13" MacBook. 2.16GHz, 2GB Ram, 160GB HD @ 7200RPM.

Other:
White 80GB 3rd Gen iPod.
8GB iPhone (That Works in Canada).
A 500GB External Porsche LaCie Hard Drive.
30" Apple Cinema Display to go with the MacBook Pro.

But, of course it's all a dream. I would never think of buying all of that.
I would maybe think of buying the stuff under "Other" but, all those computers will burn a hole in my pockets.
Oh what a dream.

Pretty much have my dream setup now :). All I would add would be 2x 30" Cinema displays, 6GBs of RAM, Panasonic HVX-200 and a decent dSLR camera. Plus the cheapest MacBook for when I go to Uni in September for my coursework.

Oh and the Final Cut Studio 2 update, FCS 1 is good but I really want to try out Colour.

To just have everything work :D

A laptop with built in always on high speed internet access via wifi, 3G, HSPDA or what every all from one provider/ISP - oh and unlimited data to mean unlimited data.
To not have my data filtered, if I want to use VoIP I should be able to over my 3G modem, if it impacts your revenues: tough. I want my combined skype/mobile to use the same sim/3G/wifi base station as my laptop (multiple single, one account).
I when I come home I want everything connected to my laptop via one cable (FW800 in to hub?) video, audio, keyboard, mouse, power? whatever.
Hell I want bluetooth/wireless podcast updating to my ipod, and wireless sync of my Garmin GPS; cradles suck.
I would like it if MacOSX handled windows shares disappearing
I want the new iMacs to accept video inputs & have low level keyboard input switching.
Apple to make Quicktime pro and Superdrives standard, and a free Remote Desktop application for windows - VineVNC is usable, but give me the real thing. To allow cross data sharing of address book. some bookmarks etc for family's using Macs.
Full disk encryption support and Leopard to actually do ultra fast switching between Windows/MacOSX/Linux.
iChat for windows, otherwise that Cam is useless.

This is so easy....

....A secretary / PA / Exective assistant with whatever computer she needs to manage my ever increasing lottery started fortune, a large sailing boat and a fair wind.

Oh and I have just been reminded, She who must be obeyed (I'll swap for a hot tub), no dear, of course I do, would I be here....

Woah, now! We are talking about dreams! So here goes:

Mac Pro
100" wraparound display (think three 30"s but no separation between them)

512 EB RAM (probably DDR84)
Nvidia HD 42 H2G2 series card (Don't panic.)
Protein-Coated Disk burner (HD-DVD & Blu-ray are archaic tech!)

There we go. True dream system... :D

my dream setup would be something like:

Portable: a tablet computer with detachable keyboard. on the screen side it would just have a nintendo-like controller ( + º o ) to move the cursor. It would have a flash drive with some 4GB, a SD-card slot, 2 USB, 10" diagonal size touchscreen with 1280x800px, wi-fi, UMTS, bluetooth.

Desktop:
mini tower with 2 x 3.5" hard drives, a good TV Tuner, 2 x 21" screens, overall good performance for gaming and silent enough to be in the living room :)

I've got mine.

Work
12" PowerBook, typing on that thing is a joy.
17" iMac with 20" Dell widescreen monitor, OSX and XP.
A4 graphics tablet.

I would like a 20" iMac to match my monitor, but I bought 2 17" iMacs instead. One for work, one for slave work (ripping DVDs, running server etc). Soon to upgrade the HDD in my slave machine to 500gb since you can buy them for £70 now.
