Camino. I'm all old-fashioned and whatnot so I don't use RSS feeds and all that fancy hoopla, I'm just waiting for the stable version that'll utilize spellcheck. (I miss that about Safari, oh, and the pop-up dictionary, too.)

there are many dictionary extensions for firefox2, and they are easier to use than safari's
such as:

Anyone have anymore input?

I've seriously downloaded and tried every browser on that list and they all have some sort of problem with them where it pisses me off and don't want to use it.

thats about all the best u can get, if u can't stand using them..... maybe u need to rethink about mac. lol

I like firefox a lot, the only problem i have with it is that sometimes its slow. Another thing pops to my mind is that when you go to sites that open windows media player it does not work at all. I have to open the same page with safari to in order to watch that movie clip.

I have to change my vote from Firefox to Flock.

I decided to see how much memory Firefox was using: holy crap, 81 mb!

I tryed out all the browser I could find, until I found one like Firefox. It still uses 61 mb, but thats 20 mb saved!

Plus the icon is blue:)

I love Safari on the Mac. It loads and renders everything very quickly. I love its light UI and it has most of the features I like. Firefox just isn't modern Mac-like enough for me. It's toolbar doesn't fit in well with Aqua, its implementation of tabs resembles that of 10.2, not 10.4, sheets slide down, not pop out, and it takes forever to launch. Those aside, it has a nice DOM Inspector and JavaScript debugger, which aren't available by default in Safari. There are times I have to use it because WebKit won't render something correctly.

My favorite browser on Window is IE7. It's sleek, fast, and has loads of features. (I'm putting aside how IE has historically corrupted the web standards out there by implementing propriety things. I'm just focusing on the browsing experience.) It fits in better with the environment (go figure) than Firefox, though Firefox still has the lead in web page debugging.

Safari is my fave, with Firefox a close second. Firefox 2 is worth going and getting. As others have noted, Safari has that "Mac look and feel", and is pretty speedy. Firefox has boatload of add-on extensions available for it. Probably the handiest of these is ad block.

Like most folks here, I do sometimes try to get windows users to convert to the Mac platform. Of course, this is problematic, if they have a large amount of time and cash invested in their PCs, but they love Firefox, once I've shown them where to get it, and once they quickly realize how much more secure it is than IE.

For me, Camino is the best. No other browser loads the pages as fast on my computer as Camino and no other browser has as few bugs. Safari will regularly crash on me and lock up and Firefox is just slow and buggy.

Firefox, by a long shot. Loads fast, has all the features I need, and with Adlblock and filterset.g, I never see ads anymore. Plus as mentioned earlier Foxmarks is incredible and I can sync all my macs (and windows machine) without even doing anything, automatically. Now that is nice :)

In order of browser rankings for mac mine would go something like this...

1. Firefox - 2.0 solved almost all my personal issues with the browser. I use to get weird text rendering issues, that led me to switch to webkit based browsers for a while. But now that issue is resolved, and things like automatic spellchecking and Find as you type have kept me coming back to the Firefox. I use an optimized build for my powerbook, and the icon is terrific of the fox around the apple symbol. oh and 3.0's use of cairo, cocoa widgets and passing the acid 2.0 are all good things.
2. Camino - Does lots of really sweet things, feels super-mac like and is excellent overall. But with FF planning on taking more things from it for 3.0 I see myself being much more interested in FF 3 than Camino's next release.
3. Shiira - Lack of a clear development cycle has led me to use others. When 2.0 comes out I'll probably give it another chance.
4. Safari - Nice browser, for a while webkit based browsers were the only thing not giving me weird errors on my computer. But personally Safari is the slowest of the four listed, and chokes a lot when a large number of tabs are open. Websites using lots of flash and embedded content seem extra sluggish

I haven't tried Omniweb and I don't like Opera very much.

On a Mac, I like Safari despite limited compatibility on some sites and no add-on's capability.

With that said, I recommend using SafariBlock which almost imitates Firefox's Adblock Plus. In fact you can use the .txt file Adblock Plus uses for it's subscriptions (some modifications to the file may be required) and add it to SafariBlock.

On Windows, Firefox FTW!

I like Camino but it seems to have issues with certain sites and I get weird hangs.

I too have been getting odd hangs in Camino. Every now and then after clicking on a link or hitting return I get stuck on "Waiting for ...." forever. If I click STOP and then RELOAD the page usually loads fine, but this hanging is frustrating. Anyone have an idea why this would happen?

I have Firefox 2 in my Dock as a backup, but Camino is my main browser, and I'm happy as a lark with it. Always hoping for an update, of course.

1.Firefox 1.5 - Partly because it's what I used on the PC, but I just LOVE how fast it goes.
2.Tominated. (Yes, I LOVE it! :)) Very nicely done browser, I use it for the rare times FF goes crazy.
3.Safari- For some reson it's the only browser that let's me check my email. Thats about it.

EDIT: Tominated is now my main, with FF as a backup. I LOOOVE it!

I definitely think this should be stickied. It's asked frequently and I think that more users would add to it if they saw it and not feel the need to make a new thread :)
