1. Indian
2. Mexican
3. Steak house

I have an addiction to Indian food, it is so amazing. I can honestly order anything on the menu and be in love with it, i'm not sure i can feel that way about any other type of food/ restaurant. Mexican is way up there, too, but Indian has many interesting flavors and combinations that Mexican in my opinion cannot hold a candle to it :)

Oh my god, Lau. If you ever find your way toward east coast USA, I've got a tapas restaurant that'll blow your mind.

The chocolate souffle is like ... the food version of a smile. Or a foodgasm. Whatever. And the asparagus with brown butter ...

I'll take you up on that, definitely. Mmm. Conversation with thedude, and tapas. Sounds spot on. Was actually looking into a visit to the USA, as it happens.

We're so there.

Imagine what we'll learn during the five and a half hour drive ...

I just re-read your original post, and realised that you didn't actually recommend that you guys would be there, just the restaurant. :p

Not that it doesn't mean you shouldn't be there, 'cause you should. :D

No ... I totally meant we'd be there.

More mourning my distance from said deliciousness ...

:)

what all is in the burrito? just a mexican mix of cheese? sounds tasty, regardless. for me, burritos are beans (preferably refried pinto, but black is good too), rice, and cheese. maybe some sour cream on the side, and ideally guac, though that is rare and big $. unlimited chips and salsa = heaven

You want good burritos that will satisfy your vegetarianiness? Next time you're in downtown DC at lunch time during the week (I don't know about weekends), stop by the corner of 15th/K NW. Right in front of the CVS is your dream. The Burrito Cart. Incredible food. Incredible prices. Incredibly good. And, if you are making the trip to DC just for the burrito, check out the website before you go to see if he's "open" or "closed" (really just there or not).

Enjoy the chips and a bit of hot sauce while you wait in line, be ready to call out your choice of tortilla and cheese type (or no cheese). When you get to the front, remember - black, tan, or black and tan; small, medium, or large; sour cream, guac, and/or salsa (fresh); name your hot sauce choice. While he does that, get out your plastic bag and throw in a peppermint patty or two and your cash into the box (get change out if you need it). Punch your frequent burrito card, take your burrito, and go! People are waiting in line behind you!

Wow, Chinese seems to be the favourite around here.

Korean (my favourite)
Thai
Japanese
Chinese
Vietnamese
Indian

Steak - rare or medium rare.
Seafood - crab, lobster, fish

Most non-asian foods are boring to me. I have travelled quite a bit, so it's not like I'm eating at Taco Bell and telling people I'm an expert on Mexican food. ;)

I'm a big fan of any restaurant that will serve me ;)

What kind of restaurant I like really depends more on the occasion...for very casual, a good Mexican restaurant or pub/grill is perfect. For a more date-y situation, a nice wine bar is more my speed. For somewhere in between, good Thai or Chinese can't be beat.
