Dont care about it, actually i preferred just the battery icon..

Just need to look at the percentage when running low, i just need to swipe down from the right. No biggie for me.

For me it will take some getting used to. I still check my battery far more than I probably should and it's a pain to have to do that. However I don't really see what the alternative would be, I wouldn't want to lose anything else from the status bar.

I turned off battery percentage a while ago and I recommend everyone do the same if you're not already on an iPhone X. You develop a weird, fruitless habit of checking it obsessively hundreds of times per day when it's visible. There is literally nothing that comes of checking it constantly, other than some pointless anxiety. Occasionally you do need to check it, like if you decide to go somewhere and want to check your battery level before you go, which is easy to do via Control Center, or the Battery widget. This type of once or twice per day check is normal. What isn't normal is constantly looking at your battery percentage and doing some sort of passive, subconscious evaluation of your battery life that isn't necessary, or even useful.

Those of you that think you "miss it", I suggest you relax and realize: Your usage pattern tends to be the same every day. If the phone normally gets you through the day (it should), then there is nothing to look at it. If it doesn't get you through the day, find a routine that does, or find a routine way of topping up your charge. This is much healthier than constantly checking your battery percentage.

I'm Ok with it. It's not that big of a hassle and is more psychological than anything. I can still get an idea of how much charge I have with the icon only and simply swipe down on the right if I really need to know the percentage. I did always have the percentage showing on my old phones.

I tried turning it off on my 8+ a couple of days ago just to see if it would bother me. I’m typically very OCD about such things. Strangely enough, it’s not bothering me at all. It’s quite liberating even. I can still get the exact percentage when needed, but frankly... I don’t even need the battery indicator anymore. Battery life on the 8+ is so good and I got a wireless charging pad at home where I normally put my phone down, so I no longer forget to charge it. Except for when I first tested the battery, I haven’t been close to running out of juice.
