Vancouver Canucks!

Before I used to just name my computers using the same naming convention at my old co-op job when I first really got into learning about computer networks. It was just: (first initial)(lastname)-(dt|lt), dt for desktop, lt for laptop.

Then I worked at a place where they used a Fish theme, and an Island theme. I had a Barracuda and a Sable

That inspired me to come up with my own theme for my home network using players names from the Vancouver Canucks hockey team.

Workgroup/SSID: Canucks
MacBook: Morrison
XP Desktop: Ohlund
XP Media File Server: Bertuzzi (since traded, but the name fits, its a big huge heavy grey box)
Thinkpad Laptop: Naslund
GF's computer: Linden
4GB Nano 1st gen: Smyl (for Stan Smyl, long since retired)
GF's 2GB Nano 1st gen: Luongo
512MB Shuffle: Sedin II (my first shuffle died, and the Sedins are twin brothers on the team)
Memory Keys: Bieksa and Salo
Previously: Toshiba Pocket PC: Cooke

I think my theme works great since for the most part, hockey players generally have some pretty unique last names. I might change it to something more static though, since its very easy for an active player to get traded.

MacBook Chris's MacBook Not very original, but hey there you go.
HP Pavilion Study & xNet1 Study is its unofficial name (as in, the study computer) but xNet1 is its networked name because my network is called xNet and its the first ad primary machine on the network.
FileServer xNet2 A new addition! Running Damn Small Linux 3.3 on a AMD K6 233MHz with 64MB of RAM and a 2GB HD! I plan to upgrade it to a K6-III and an 80GB HD in the near future. Possibly a cheapo webserver

Others Planned:
New FileServer xNet3-FS The 3rd comp on the network, "-FS" showing that its the fileserver. Running either Linux or Windows XP.
Experimental xNet3 This will probably never happen but homefully I'll get an only Pentium-MMX with Win95 for testing stuff.

Possibly:
xNet5 Another AMD K6, although this time a K6-II or a PIII-Celeron.
xNet6 Some kind of Mac, likley a iMac G3/G4 for ripping DVDs
xNet7-10 Reserved for future use, likley to become other comps for the assorted family members

I think 10 computers is enought for a 15 year old, so I'll stop now. :D
