I use my 2010 Macbook Pro at work all day and then when I'm home at night I go with the iPad only. I find it much easier to unwind and step away from work without my laptop in front of me. If I had to just have one it would be the MBP hands down. The iPad just can't keep up.

At this point in time, it's my iPad. It's the perfect middle ground between my iPhone and MBP. The more serious computing tasks are done with the MBP but with the ease/portability of the iPad, it can go with me wherever and be turned on in an instant which is great. The iPhone is okay but I only use it for communication purposes and the occasional weather lookup.

For me its the Mac Pro in my sig, followed by the Air in my sig.

I tried to just live off of the Air since I'm moving and I wanted to pack my main machine up but it didn't work so well. Four hours later my Pro was unpacked and up and running again :p

iPad may get a little more screen time than the MBA. But mostly it's just me "wasting" time reading things, etc... So I still have to say the MBA is primary for "computing"

Not counting a desktop at work I'd say my self-built desktop PC is the main system. My Thinkpad is a relatively distant second with iphone 3rd and iPad veeeeery distant 4th.

MacBook Pro all the way. I'm really in love with this machine. That being said though, I do find myself using my iPad more and more frequently.

2011 27" iMac. I do coloring for comics, so I wanted the big screen, and honestly, it was a LOT cheaper to get a top of the line iMac than a Mid-range MBP and a Cinema Display.

I have a 13" MBA for the convention circuit, but I'm pondering ditching that for my iPad.

Hi Res 17" MacBook Pro Quad Core i7 with 4GB of DDR3 Dual Channel RAM and 1TB HD Running 10.6. (best version of OS X; I have no plans to get Lion). I have a second 17" MacBook Pro, but it's an '06 and I never use it these days.

And an iPhone 4.

...and yes my ram is behind the times, I realize. :(

4gig is decent though!

I voted desktop as I probably use my iMac more than my MBP or MBA, but the pro runs a very close second. My iPad I tend to use at night when I can't sleep, and my MBA comes into that category as well. I don't really play games on my iPhone, I use it as a err...phone and for email...:)

Strictly talking primary, it's a near tie for me, between MBP and Mac Pro. Mainly because I use those two so much for work.

I'm surprised that as of this post, the poll reveals desktops only slightly behind laptops. I expected laptops to far exceed desktops. Perhaps they will as more and more users respond.

My iMac is my "primary" device while I'm at home and not lying in bed or something. It's much faster and takes less work to use than my iPhone for a majority of tasks. Keyboard & mouse lets you get a lot more done in a lot less time in my opinion.

Outside of the house or when I'm relaxing I always use my iPhone because it's close by.

My iPad by far. Nearly all of my internet related activities are handled through it. As well as some basic image editing. The only times I switch to the desktop is when I need to use photoshop or if I need to view a website that isn't supported (which really isn't that often).

My iPod is occasionally used to web browse, though I'm not particularly comfortable reading off of small screen for any prolonged period of time. I mostly use the device for music, flashcards, and FaceTime.

I have a desktop as my primary computer because I want a decent keyboard (I use a Microsoft Natural Elite), a decent mouse pointer (I use a Logitech M500 plugged into the USB port), and big enough decent display (I use an old Samsung 930B 19" 1280x1024 LCD flat panel).
