why is your imac your main machine when you have a macbook and faster mac mini?

The iMac is in the living room and is used for photos, music, email and surfing by myself and the wife, should be updated really but we think its the best iMac design to date and it looks the part where it is.

MacMini is attached to 32" Sony LCD TV, iBook is used for my wifes iPods and surfing, bed, sofa, garden etc, such a tough laptop!

MacBook is used just by me for work stuff and movie making and the TAM, well, its just looks good!!!!

PPC Macs more than half of Macs out there?

Interesting factoid...

Recent data provided by Net Applications shows PPC Macs account for a little more than half of the net connected Macs out there.

BTW, to add to my previous post, my first mac was a slot loading Graphite iMac.

I've heard about that survey showing that more than half the people using Mac's are on PPC.

I guess on MacRumors it is different.

At the moment: MacBook Pro C2D 2.33GHz

Next month however that it will be the secondary unit when I get a 24" iMac. :)

MacBook Pro 15" 2ghz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, and 80GB HD

If we get a 12" MBP I'll be picking up one of those. I love the screen real estate but it's a little big for taking to class.

My trusty old 12" 1.33Ghz iBook G4.

But once Leopard is released I'm planning on buying a 20" iMac to pair up with my Dell 2005FPW. I love the portability that the iBook gives me but I'm dying for more screen real estate (as well as a more powerful machine).

I "voted" for the PowerPC Desktop.
But I have 2 Primary Macs:

- My beloved Quad G5
- My beloved MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo 2 GHz.

I think I use both about 8 hours a day. Sometimes simultaneously, mostly not.

By my main MacRumors Mac is my Quad G5!

So... that's the reason I voted for my PowerPC Desktop.
:apple:

work: Dual 867 Powermac G4

home: Dual 1.3 GHz (modded) Powermac G4

mobile: PB G4 1.67 GHz last rev.

all have 2 GB of RAM and run like new.

holding off on intel until the system software no longer supports G4 (10.7 hopefully)

Intel iMac for me. I also have a CD MacBook, but it travels a lot between my girlfriend's house and mine so I don't get to use it as much as I'd like.
