Time's almost up.... Here's all the guesses and spoilers again

They are all composers.

And more specifically?

Bronze left handed composers?

LOL you're getting a lot closer... but no

That "spoiler" clue is actually a cast of Chopin's left hand though.

what you long for as a musician if you suffer focal dystonia of the right hand

How about this one.

1. Indian Ocean 2004
2. Messina, Italy, 1908
3. Portugal-Morocco, 1755
4. South China Sea, 1782
5. Krakatoa, Indonesia, 1883

Oof. You got me o_OSomething to do with naval treaties o_O
The dates suggest imperialism but the Indian Ocean one is throwing me off...

Btw, have you read Guns, Germs, and Steel?

Krakatoa event pretty famous... i should have stacked 'em upside down but then the Indian Ocean event was pretty famous too.. i thought as bookends they'd probably click. I never heard of the item 3 and 4 ones and will like to read up on them sometimes. I heard about Messina event in a novel I think.

Earthquakes (but Krakatoa was a volcanic eruption).

1. Chaika
2. Pobeda
3. Zhiguli
4. Volga
5. Lada

Eastern bloc cars, with Chaika at the top, I see you’re a poster of refined taste

Why is Lada at bottom friend just put vodka een, feeks all problemz

??? Almost certainly a series of Russian lawnmower models. Item 4 there is for a Trump VIP golf course.

Nope

Nope

Actually, Russian, or, to be more precise, Soviet cars, but Eastern bloc is close enough.

In truth, I had debated leaving Lada out, and replacing it with something such as Zil, or Zaphorzhets, but, after some thought, I decided to include Lada in order to give some sort of clue as to what this was all about.

And, a further footnote, I have toy models of each of these cars, bought in open air markets, when I spent two years of my life in Tbilisi, Georgia. My colleagues bought toy tanks, but I purchased models of old Warsaw Pact era motor-cars.

I totally love this post.

OK the time has expired on my wayback puzzle.

Those dudes are among those (surprisingly many) composers who have written major piano works scored for left hand only.

Daron Hagen - Seven Last Words: Concerto for Piano Left Hand And Orchestra
Lukas Foss - Piano Concerto for the Left Hand
Ned Rorem - Piano Concerto for Left Hand and Orchestra
Sergei Prokofiev - Piano Concerto No. 4 in B-flat major for the left hand, Op. 53
Benjamin Britten - Diversions for Piano Left Hand and Orchestra, Op. 21
