iProtect worked in 3.x.x, have not tried it yet on 4.0
I agree with you I installed it and clicked on it than it crashes and I get a message that my iPhone is in safe mode, right away after than I deleted it, I'm still looking for a similar app...anyone??That is the worst app ever (for iOS4, anyway)!! Crashes as soon as I tap the icon. Is there any other app that offers lock features similar to iProtect?

It gets a lot of grief but:
I can't live without the Intelliscreen alerts
Also:
Haptic Pro
QuickSMS
MyWi
SBSettings
Wish Jobs would allow alerts to alert you more than once. Everything else I could possibly live without.
anyone know a good app for changing the textmessage alert sound and other alerts to custome tones that i have? does bitesms cover this?
Thanks in advance.
BiteSMS is a great app for just about everything you need to change with the stock messaging app. Check it out. It does allow SMS lock along with a myriad of other features.
I'm not really understanding BiteSMS for some reason.
What is it actually for?
it actually replaces your messages app. it has everything messages has and a lot more. i just downloaded today and WILL NOT be going back to the regular messages app![]()
MyWi-useful if you need to tether and don't want to pay $20/month to AT&T
Ultrasnow-if you're on any carrier other than AT&T (in the US)
I think winterboard makes the iPhone ugly and is a battery waster, don't text heavily and think SBsettings isn't that useful.

BiteSMS adds a ton a functionality to the messaging capabilities of the phone. The main one in my opinion is quick reply. You can reply directly within the message popup without ever leaving the app you were in (or unlocking the phone).
It also has options for sending texts through their network but I have no interest in that.
I even went as far as to change all the wording and icons so on my homescreen nothing looks different but I still have all the function of BiteSMS (Their default icon is god awful)
how did you change the bitesms icon?
Also does anybody know any IOS4 compatible app to password protect SMS ?
iProtect - I think it's version 2.0, works perfect on my iphone 4. You can lock any apps you want...it's like $8-$9 though.
